Mask Digest: no:hj Facial Sheet Masks Roundup

I got a huge windfall of no:hj masks when I started to participate in 0.8L_USA sampling service.  It is really easy to sign up and apply for products ~ just go to 08liter.com and sign up ~ you can also access them via an app as well.   You get to see what products are available, apply and hope that you are picked!  You must have a Facebook or Instagram account and I believe there are some minimal requirements (100 followers, posting at least once a week) This marketing service is only for USA and Korea, so hopefully they will branch out to other countries as well.   At any rate, I have gotten some great items from this service

1004 Laboratory Acai Berry 90 Protecting Ampoule – Intensive Moisture & Brightening Essence OMG! This stuff is amazing ~ I love its lightweight texture that provides a great dose of hydration ~ it goes on smooth, non-greasy and just sinks into my skin. The scent is a sparkling lemon-lime citrus and its top ingredient is 90% acai berry fruit extract, along with hydrating humectants like glycerin, trehalose, sodium hyaluronate and beta glucan. This is also full of berry extracts (blueberry, cranberry) as well as witch hazel for soothing and astringent properties, propolis for blemish fighting and antibacterial properties and moisturizing argan oil. Niacinamide helps brighten your skin (although I haven't seen that yet). There is a lot of citrus extracts and oils in here, so if you are sensitive to those ingredients, you should be aware of it – always wear your sunscreen too! I love this product so much that I will do a full review at my blog in a few weeks ~ I want to continue using this until then. This is Eco-cert/Organic certified as well. Thank you so much @0.8l_usa & @1004lab for providing me with this product! #rasianbeauty #kbeauty #koreanskincare #minireview #kbeautyblogger #bbloggers #bblogger #femalebblogger #femalebeautyblogger #abeautyblogger #ampoule #1004lab #ampoule #protecting #acaiberry #skincare #08L

I received this 1004lab Ardente Joe Body Triple Wash Shower Gel from @0.8l_usa. I love a good body wash and I was curious to see what the "recreation" perfume fragrance would be. I have NO clue what perfume this is supposed to be, but I LOVE THIS SCENT. It is lime, basil and manderine scented and smells so good. Reading the information on gobizkorea, this is a reproduction of a Jo Malone fragrance. It is a great unisex body wash too. It lathers up nicely and is made with USDA certified organica and ECOCERT botancials ~ such as green tea, licorice, olive and calendula to name a few, plus some really great moisturizing ingredients: macadamia, sunflower and baobab oils, plus beta-glucan, trehalose and sodium hyaluronate. Use a body pouf to lather up (and it DOES lather up!!) and enjoy the lovely citrus-spicy fragrance. #08L #1004lab #Joebodywash #perfumelover #jomalone #bodywash #kbeautyblogger #kbeauty #koreanskincare #minireview #bblogger #bbloggers #femalebblogger #femalebeautyblogger

And some duds too ~ if you follow me on IG, you can see my mini reviews there.  Since I was accepted into several no:hj campaigns and I really do like the masks, with a few exceptions, I thought a mask digest was in order as this is a fairly unknown brand (or not as a popular) and I wanted to showcase their products.  Please note: all masks are hand translated by me. There is a difference between what is shown on the package and the translation on the website, so I have to do with the package. All mistakes are my own and all of these reviews appeared originally on my IG account

no:hj Centella Skin Calming Kit

Centella Calming Gel (which is great for sunburns, cooling down, rashes & moisturizing), but a 5 variety pack of Centella masks by no:hj ~ Nutrition, Brightening, Face Up, Moisture & Sebum Care

no:hj Centella Skin Calming in Face Up (Elasticity) So, what does anyone do when they are faced with a brand new sheet mask brand? Try it out immediately!! This is one of 5 masks from the Centella Skin Calming line by Korean brand no:hj.  Centella Asiatica that is used medicinally to help speed up wound healing, such as blemishes and skin rashes. It also helps minimize the appearance of pores, and since it stimulates collagen production, it will make your skin more supple and firm. Face Up is their toning and firming, bringing elasticity back to your skin. I love the mask package, btw ~ very simple and aesthetically pleasing. The sheet mask is a stiffer tencel one, but surprising enough, it does adhere to the curves of my face ~ sometimes with the stiffer masks, they pull away quickly. The essence doesn’t have a scent and it has a gel-like texture ~ there isn’t that much of it. So, based on that, I wasn’t expecting much from this mask. Oh and the mask covers my upper eye area which is pretty amazing as I have a lot of area there😁😁 The mask is cooling (but not cold) while I wore it and I removed it after 20 minutes. I was so surprised to see that my pores and fine lines around my forehead were smaller and less noticeable. There was no tacky residue as all of the essence had absorbed into my skin, leaving a smooth and semi-matte finish behind.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Collagen Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Bambusa Vulgaris (bamboo) Leaf Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Morus Alba (Mulberry) Bark Extract,1,2-Hexanediol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Arginine, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Carbomer, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance cosDNA analysis

no:hj Centella Skin Calming Mask Pack Moisture  This mask is part of the Centella series, which are calming and soothing masks. Centella Asiatica (also known as Tiger Herb) is a common herbal ingredient that has been used in Asian skin care for over 3000 years and has been used medicinally to help speed up wound healing, such as blemishes and skin rashes. It also helps minimize the appearance of pores, and since it stimulates collagen production, it will make your skin more supple and firm. All of the Centella masks contain 10% of Centella Asiatica extracts. This is the moisture mask and it has aloe vera along with eggplant and carrot extracts ~ eggplants are full of water and contain minerals and vitamins, along with anthocyanins, which are anti-aging antioxidants. Carrots used in skincare have soothing properties as well as high level of beta carotene, which is an antioxidant that will help combat free radicals and repair free radical damage. I will say that no:hj mask packages are one of the toughest to open ~ in fact, I have to use scissors, as I cannot for the life of me tear open this package with my bare hands. I must be weak or something.

This mask is pretty much scentless, and it fits fairly well ~ I wish that holes around the eyes and mouth were a bit bigger. The mask itself is pretty wet with the essence and there isn’t much left over in the package. I left on for 35 minutes ~ I could have left it on longer, but I used this mask this morning, so I couldn’t because I had to finish getting ready for work ~ my face was very nicely hydrated, very smooth, all over brightening effect and no sticky residue! The licorice and mulberry contribute to the brightening effect. I love that no:hj masks have bifida ferment which helps hydrate and repair your skin. I really like this series ~ I guess these masks are a hit or a miss, based on other reviews I have been reading ~ but so far, these are a major HIT with me!

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Portulaca Oleracea extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Morus Alba (Mulberry) Bark Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Arginine, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Sprout Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Carbomer, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance cosDNA analysis

no:hk Aqua Soothing Gel Set

NO:HJ Aqua Soothing Gel & Sheet Mask WOW, another set by NO:HJ courtesy of @0.8l_usa, @nohj.co.kr & @nohj_korea. I am still working thru the Centella Calming Set!! This Aqua Set contains a Tea Tree Soothing Gel (yeah) and 5 masks: Blue: Marine Collage, Tan: Vitamin C, Red: Snail, Purple: Shea Butter and Green: Mayu (horse fat)

no:hj Aqua Soothing Snail Mask These masks are made from bio cellulose Tencel and the mask is dripping with essence with a gelatinous feel. This snail mask is formulated for helping control excess oil and cleanses your pores. Snail slime helps repair your skin while providing hydration and nutrients, helping to enhance your skin elasticity and moisture. This mask doesn’t have an odor that I can smell and I left it on for 35 minutes ~ I used this mask right after that horrible gold mask that enlarged my pores. And YES! I removed this mask and my pores looked tighter and smaller, my blemish by my mouth is reduced in redness and swelling. There is no sticky or tacky residue on my face ~ just smooth, clean skin that is very hydrated ~ and with smaller pores (whew!) I am really liking these no:hj masks so far

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera (sea grape) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Carbomer, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Sprout Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Water, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract,Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Ceramide NP,Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

no:hj Aqua Soothing Mask Pack in Shea Butter I normally shy away from ingredients like shea butter in my facial sheet masks because I have oily skin and worry about break outs. I decided to face my fears (haha) and try this shea butter mask from no:hj. This is part of their Aqua Soothing Collection ~ I do notice that the masks from this series are a bit smaller than the Centella Soothing Collection, especially around the eyes, nose and area between my nose and upper lip. I am pleasantly surprised that this mask doesn’t feel like a hunk of shea butter, but has a thin essence and it is quite slick and smooth to touch. I don’t really smell anything with this mask, so any scent is very light. I was able to leave this mask on for 50 minutes, as it was drenched in essence, and after removing, I was happy to see that my face felt very moisturized, but with no sticky or tacky residue and very smooth ~ no enlarged pores. So far, so good! Well, the next morning (as I used this mask before going to bed), I saw a little pimple on my chin ~ one of my major hot spots for blemishes. Huh. I guess shea butter masks and me are going to have to part ways until the winter time, as I think it might be too moisturizing for me in the humid summer months.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract,Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) Butter,Panthenol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera (sea grape) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Carbomer, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Sprout Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Water,Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Olive Oil PEG-7 Esters ,Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Ceramide NP,Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

no:hj Aqua Soothing Vitamin C Mask This is the 3rd part for my “blemish repair” fix. Last night I used a collagen mask, which are lovely for most people, but don’t always agree with me. I woke up to some minor whiteheads, so I tackled them this morning ~ first I used my Naruko Raw Job’s Tears Supercritical CO2 Pore Minimizing & Brightening Wash Powder ~ this is gentle enzymatic cleanser that helps exfoliate, then I applied the Earth Kiss clay mask to detox. After showering, I then applied this mask from no:hj from the Aqua Soothing line ~ a vitamin C mask, to help continue gentle exfoliation & brighten my skin tone. Just like all of the no:hj masks I have tried, this has a gelatinous feel to the sheet mask and it is drenched in essence. The essence in this mask is almost gel-like and I cannot really smell any scent. Left on for 40 minutes and presto! My face looks brighter, smoother and soothed ~ I cannot even tell I had 5 little whitehead blemishes on my face when I woke up this morning! No sticky or tacky residue and the essence is all absorbed into my skin. I am so impressed by the no:hj line. Seriously. Great stuff.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract,Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ascorbyl Glucoside (vitamin C), Panthenol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera (sea grape) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Carbomer, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Sprout Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Water, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract, Ceramide NP, Arginine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

no:hj SuperFood Broccoli

I then got TEN masks from the superfood line ~ I was hoping for a variety pack, but I received 10 masks in Broccoli.  The packaging is really cool ~ it has a holographic design on it and those white dots you see on the masks shimmer with a really cool effect…. But the masks themselves, however… My love affair with no:hj has hit a troublesome patch.

no:hj Superfood Broccoli Mask This is supposed to be an oil control and balancing mask, if I am translating the package properly. It contains broccoli extracts (250mg), a powerful antioxidant ~ beta-carotene, Vitamins C, B complex, E, A and K, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Amino Acids and Folic Acid (Vitamin B9). All of these vitamins help care for your skin and keep it glowing and healthy. Broccoli also contains glucoraphanin, a phytonutrient, which has been reported in reversing sun damage on your skin. It also has honey extracts (875mg), which is a moisturizing, antibacterial ingredient, good for soothing skin and helping fight blemishes and other skin issues. The mask is similar to the other no:hj masks I have tried ~ very wet, very gelatinous in feel, with a thick gel-like essence. The scent is a bit generic light floral-soapy scent. It goes away quickly, so it doesn’t bother me. I left the mask on for 40 minutes and then remove it. I will say this ~ this is NOT an oil control mask. It is highly moisturizing and it made my pores look bigger. I think this mask will be saved for the winter time, when the air is drier. I am not a fan of this mask right now, as it did nothing for my skin and in fact, I put on another mask that actually will help with oil control.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Honey Extract (875mg), Butylene Glycol, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract (250mg), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Milk Protein Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Carbomer, Arginine, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Niacinamide, Xanthan Gum, Titanium dioxide, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

no:hj Aqua Intracell Sleeping Mask

Another 10 piece set… that really is an epic fail for me Packaging does have that cool holographic effect, too bad they didn’t focus more on the actual product.  If these worked for you, let me know in the comments!

no:hj Aqua Intracell Sleeping Mask I normally love no:hj masks ~ their soothing and aqua lines are top notch. I disliked the Superfood Broccoli but that was more about it not being suitable for my skin type. I am not sure whose skin would benefit from the Aqua Intracell Sleeping Mask, however. I was really excited to get this mask and try it, but I have to say I am disappointed by its performance. The mask sheet itself is fantastic – it is a tencel fabric, and they soak it with a lot of essence, so it is almost gelatinous in its feel. Very easy to apply as well. First negative mark ~ the scent. It is a heavy perfume floral scent, which I dislike. I guess this series of Intracell have floral scents ~ the calming, I am told, smells like lavender, which I would have liked. This is not lavender at all, but reminds me of a cheap perfume.  What is even more insulting, is that the description states this is a warm, woody, sandalwood scent, which is isn’t.

I left the mask on for 15 minutes as that is how much I disliked the scent and OMG. First off, this is not a hydrating mask ~ I felt like this sucked the moisture OUT of my face. Secondly, my PORES WERE HUGE. Lines and pores were exaggerated due to my face being dried out by this mask. I quickly slapped on a different mask to hydrate my skin and then another one. It took two masks plus some snail bee serum to hydrate my skin and lessen the lines and pores on my forehead, nose and chin. Sorry, I dislike this mask so much. It doesn’t work for my oily skin type ~ has anyone else used this and found it to be a good mask for them? Let me know in the comments below!! I will say that I love the holographic design on this mask ~ much more entertaining than the mask itself.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Dioscorea Japonica (yam) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf Extract, Milk Protein Extract, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Lavander Flower Water, Niacinamide, Allantoin,Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract,Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Panthenol, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Dipotassium Glycyrrizate, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance  cosDNA analysis

Where can you purchase no:hj masks and other products?  When I started this blog post, there wasn’t anywhere you could get them outside of using a shipping service. Now, you can find them at several online stores that ship globally

Have you tried any of no:hj masks?  I think that most of the ones I have tried, and I still have some more to try out, are really good. Just a couple of duds for me with this brand.
