Leaders StepSolution Pore-Scaling Black Aqua Mask  I totally adore this mask!  I will repeat my review on it here: This is deep detox cleansing mask that also provides mositure and brightening. The black mask is infused with charcoal and it help remove excess oil and debris. This also has volcanic ash, which helps detox and purify your skin. Soybeans are my fav ~ they are an antioxidant and will help soften your skin and reverse free radical damage. Niacinamide will help brighten your skin tone and Houttuynia Cordata is an astringent and anti-inflammatory ingredient. Sugar Maple extract is a natural source of AHA, which will help remove dead skin cells. This mask is soaked with essence, just like all Leaders non-hydrogel masks. This is a very moisturizing mask and it does hydrate quite well. I left it on for 40 minutes, as it was such a wet mask! I don’t view it as much of an oil control mask, but it does leave my face fresh, moist and clean looking, and my pores look tighter. I do find that Leaders masks are really nice overall (I think I might have had a dud here and there), and one thing you can count on is that their cotton masks are really wet!   RV $4.00

Next, four masks from the brand Dr. Althea.  This is a premier brand and can be very expensive!  I have tried one of their masks and didn’t care for it, as it was disagreed with my skin, but I am interested in the other items.

Dr. Althea Water Glow Skin Renewal Hydrogel Mask  This is the one I have tried and I had a set of them that I purchased from Beautibi last fall.   I dislike hydrogels for the most part, so it already had a strike against it, but then when it caused me to break out after I used the mask 2 times,  I knew it wasn’t for me.   It is very moisturizing and very rich, probably too rich for my oily skin type.  I know that drier skin types really like this mask, based on IG reviews. I have included my initial impression of the mask here (from about 6  months ago)

This is a 2 piece hydrogel, not my favorite types of masks, and it was really slippery with the essence and the hydrogel ~ it reminded me of jellyfish!! It is a very wiggly mask. However, once applied to my face, it pretty much stuck to it (like Alien). The fit was fairly good as it covered my big face ~ I would have liked more coverage on the sides of my face and also around the nose area, but hey, it got most of the parts. No scent that I can detect. This mask has a lot of nice ingredients in it ~ niancinamide, lactobacillus ferment, houtttuynia cordata, allantoin, panthenol and a load of hanbang ingredients! I kept this mask on for 50 minutes until the gel pretty much had absorbed into my skin. I can actually feel the difference in thickness in the mask when I removed it. I did notice that some of my laugh lines around my eyes look softened and my moisture level is at 54% about 1 minute after I removed the mask. My face initially felt a bit tacky but the essence quickly absorbed into my skin. I guess this is a treatment mask and I need to use these 3 times in a row to see noticeable results. I only have a 4 pack, so I guess I will use all 4 this week!   RV $5.00

Dr. Althea Essential Skin Conditioner Silk Mask  I am actually looking forward to this mask ~ it isn’t a hydrogel, but a silk mask and it has lots of nice ingredients that seem to be perfect for my skin type such as witch hazel and it is a “troubles” mask ~ meaning it is for those who are suffering from blemishes or rashes.    RV $4.00

Dr. Althea Pore-Control Charcoal Mask  I haven’t seen these masks before from Dr. Althea ~ these look to be normal facial sheet masks and the Pore Control is a charcoal mask with some great ingredients, such as natto gum (fermented soy),  wheat amino acids and mineral water.   This is perfect for me and another one that I am excited to try out from this brand.  RV $5.00

Dr. Althea Water Glow Aqua Ampoule Mask  This is a whitening, brightening and moisturizing mask.   I will have to skip this one as one of its featured ingredients is rose water (I am allergic to rose).   But if you aren’t allergic to that ingredient, this looks fantastic.  RV $4.00

To wrap up the bundle, two new masks from Facezine.  What is ironic is that I put a few of these masks in my order so now I have more of them!  Let’s hope I like them 🙂  These are both 2-step masks, containing an ampoule, which you apply to your clean face and then you put the mask over it.
