Dr. Brandt Skincare PoreDermabrasion™ Pore Perfecting Exfoliator   Sephora is saying this is a brand new exfoliator product, but I could have sworn that Dr Brandt has an exfoliator like this.  I think I am getting this confused with their microdermabrasion skin exfoliant (in the black tube) and the pores no more vacuum cleaner, which comes in a blue tube.  This has some pretty great ingredients in it, with the fermented pumpkin & radish extracts, sodium hyaluronate, salicylic acid, lentil and papaya extracts.  I use these types of home dermabrasion products rarely, so this tube will last me a few months.  I did like their microdermabrasion skin exfoliant product, so I hope this has the same effect.  .25 oz RV $7.25

Description: PoreDermabrasion™ Pore Perfecting Exfoliator reduces the look of enlarged pores and mattifies shine. Minimize pores while smoothing and evening skin’s texture with this dual-action formula. This exfoliator instantly works to deeply cleanse pores while it strengthens and tightens the look of pores by removing congestion- and clogging-causing impurities. Your skin will look and feel smoother, more even, and shine-free.

-Micro-size Pharmaceutical Grade Crystal: Blend of smaller crystals targeted to deep clean pores and improve skin texture.
-Caviar Lime Extract: Improves exfoliation; promotes a smoother, brighter, and even complexion.
-Salicylic Acid: Helps unclog pores.
-Lentil Seed Extract: Strengthens and tightens the appearance of pore walls while it refines the look of pores.

Ingredients: Water, Alumina, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Lactobacillus Ferment, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Carbomer, Methyl Gluceth-20, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Fruit Extract, Microcitrus Australasica (Australian Finger Lime) Fruit Extract, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Amyris Balsamifera Bark Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Leaf Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Salicylic Acid, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Alcohol Denat., Sodium Hydroxide, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Iron Oxide (Ci 77491), Sodium Oxide  cosDNA.com analysis

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Eyes in Matte Black 0L   Wow two eyeliners in a row!  I got a blue eyeliner in last month’s box and we had an eyeliner in the first box too, so in 4 boxes, I have gotten 3 eyeliners.  A bit of an overkill, imho ~ Come on, Sephora, you have a slew of vendors and products and the best you can do is another eyeliner?!?  Also, last month, MUFE was a brand in our boxes for a primer😦   MUFE is a solid, decent brand but I am addicted to liquid eyeliners.  If Sephora would put in a liquid eyeliner, I would be all over that.     Plus this is a boring black ~ MUFE has some beautiful colors including a black-purple, that would have been nicer to have.  I am putting together final touches on stocking stuffers, so this is going into one of them! Deluxe Size .7 g RV $11.88

Description:  A must have in your makeup bag, this waterproof eyeliner does not smudge or fade throughout the day. It’s formulated to glide on effortlessly, making it easy to define your eyes. Available in an array of vibrant shades, this liner is guaranteed to make your eyes pop. Waterproof, highly pigmented, and smudge-proof, the Aqua collection of long-lasting lip and eye colors was created for the Parisian Aquatic Ballet. Tested under water for five hours, Make Up For Ever’s longest wearing makeup has an extensive palette of high-performance colors with non-stop results. This product is fragrance free and ophthalmologist tested.

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette Mini This is actually REALLY nice, but I am also on a neutral eyeshadow color overload right now!  The curse of the beauty blogger life BUT my family & friends LOVE me!!   This is also another stocking stuffer, so I will not swatch this. However, these shades look beautiful ~ S3 is a soft gold with gold and silver pearl and M3 is the soft matte midtone tan ~ if they had done the S5  midtone slate with silver pearl & M5 ashy dark brown,  I would have kept this, but because I have so many similar shades like this one, it is gifted.   I mean, just because I am not keeping it doesn’t mean I am not lusting for it in my heart ~ I just have SO many neutral eye shadow palettes, it isn’t funny!   The reviews do state this is lightly pigmented, so I think this might be suitable for someone who doesn’t wear that much eye shadow (and that isn’t me!!)   2 mini shadows .06 oz   RV $6.38

Description (for the full sized palette): This versatile palette includes 14 must-have neutral shades—from nudes to blacks—in long-wearing shimmers and velvety smooth mattes. The clearly organized palette—shimmers on top and mattes on the bottom—makes them easy to work with, and the kit also includes a breakthrough eye shape chart to achieve your most gorgeous look, along with a dual-ended brush to use with both formulas, and a bonus 24 Hour Shadow Primer sample.

NUDE Skincare Advanced Renewal Serum  When I first saw these pods, I thought they were Urban Decay’s face foundation, which is called Naked Skin ~ the purple pods and the word NUDE just led me to think that.  However, this is actually something completely different and I am pretty excited to have this lux serum in here.  This is an anti-aging serum that is supposed to quickly absorb into your skin and it contains omega 9, polypeptides, Bifida Ferment Lysate, alpha glucan, lactic acid, and sodium hyaluronate ~ I am pretty happy this is in my box this month!!  There are actually 7 pods here and I don’t really know how many mL are in each pod as it is not labeled.  However, the instructions call for 2 to 3 drops, and the pods look to have way more than 2 to 3 drops in them!  When I weight the whole thing, paper and pods, it comes to 1 oz; individualy the paper doesn’t register nor the pod alone, so I am going to say this is between 1/3 to 1/2 oz, which is a really great deal. 7 pods total 1/3 to 1/2 oz ?? RV $26.00 ~ $39.00??

Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil Wait a minute ~  WE GOT A FACE oil last month!!  Sephora, please.   It is bad enough that monthly we get a fragrance, but now you are duplicating the products?  I couldn’t use last months, as it was for dry skin types, but Fresh Seaberry is a lightweight oil, so I am hoping I can try this one.  I think 2016 will be the year I do a lot of facial oils.  I have several that I have purchased and I get more thru my sub boxes, so I might have to do a yearly facial oil review ~ I have ginseng, rice, camellia, pomegranate and now seaberry!  What do you think?  Oil reviews?   Could get boring ~ haha.  I might just do initial impressions on facial oils, as unless they make me break out, they normally have the same purpose and function.  Some are better suited to oily skin which is what I am investigating.  ell, I have oils that I already like to use and this does get great reviews.   There is a light version of this oil, which is more suited for oily and blemish prone skin.    This oil is make not only with seabuckthorn (the tree of life), but cranberry, camellia, grapeseed and vitamin E oils.  I really Fresh products (when they don’t have rose oil/water in them) and their lip balms are my bae, so I am pretty happy to use this small sample.  Sample Size 5 mL  RV $4.52

Description:  A soothing face oil packed with restorative omegas and seabuckthorn oil to preserve a youthful appearance. Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil is a precious blend of pure oils—seaberry, cranberry seed, camellia seed, grapeseed, and sweet almond—packed with restorative omegas to maintain a youthful appearance. The lightweight formula absorbs quickly for a boost of vital moisture, while vitamin E works to maintain the skin’s elasticity and smoothness. This powerful antioxidant protects the skin from aging free radicals, leaving your complexion soft, smooth, and refreshed.  What it is formulated WITHOUT: – Parabens – Sulfates – Phthalates

The story of Seaberry: “When I was two, living in a small town in East Siberia, I tipped over a pot of boiling water and burned my arm. The doctor treated me with a pasty orange salve that I later learned was seaberry oil (also known as seabuckthorn). Native to Siberia, this restorative oil has been used for generations as a natural cure.”—Lev Glazman, Fresh Co-Founder

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb This is a rose scented perfume with jasmine.   I am allergic to rose. I love Spicebomb, which is the men’s version ~ I don’t care if it is a man’s cologne ~ I love Spicebomb.  My mom loves these perfume samples…so off it goes to her!  We got a rose scented perfume LAST month too :(  Sample 1.5 mL RV $4.00

Description: This floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality. So, I am little miffed by Sephora.  They are repeating types of products too quickly in their boxes ~ last month, facial oil, eyeliner, MUFE and rose scented perfume.  This month, facial oil, eyeliner, MUFE and rose scented perfume.   I am happy with the serum and this month’s lightweight facial oil, along with the exfoliator, but I do think Sephora needs to step up here and stop duplicating so much.  This is only the 4th month ~ how about some hair products?   Or eye creams?  What about body scrubs and washes?  Makeup could be blushes or nail polish.  How about some mini tools?  This is a great value, but there is too much duplication going on here and I am not that excited when I get a box that has items that are similar to the previous month’s box.  Am I the only one that feels that way?

Anyway, even though there are products in here I can’t/won’t use, Sephora Play! is still a fantastic value ~ I paid $10.00 + sales tax (so it was still under $10.50 or something like that) and I received a RV of $60.03 ~ $73.03 (depending on the size of the NUDE serum).    The 3 products I will use certainly make up the bulk of the value.

Did you get this month’s Sephora Play! Box?  What did you think of it and what was your favorite item?  I hope that the waitlist will open up for the New Year for those who are all waiting ~ that would be a nice present!!
