I thought that last couple of months were fabulous and guess what? 3B Box stepped up to the plate again and hit a home run! They really are adding more Japanese skincare products in our boxes and I am so happy! What is 3B (Beauty Beyond Borders)? It is an Asian sample monthly subscription box and is very affordable at $12.00/monthly. It is similar to ipsy and Birchbox, where you get 4 to 5 deluxe samples (and sometimes a full sized item!)
If you are interested in 3B, you can sign up for their waitlist ~ it took me almost 2 months to get off their waitlist, which is fine, because they are being very careful not to have their service suffer by over subscribing customers. More about 3B’s monthly service:
Each box contains a collection of deluxe samples that are new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on. The products will change each month, and you’ll get to try new skincare, haircare, nailcare, and cosmetic products. Sample products range from go-to brands such as Lioele, Etude House and Skinfood to high-end premium brands like SK-II, Kanebo, and Sulwhasoo. Don’t worry about not being able to read Japanese or Korean – we’ve got you covered with English translations of descriptions in each box. (https://the3bbox.com/the-box/)
A’Pieu NonCo Tea Tree Spot Patch I loved my A’pieu NonCo Tea Tree Emulsion that I received a while back in my Beauteque bag, so I am happy to see A’pieu NonCo show up again 😀 There are 12 of these little round patches in this one item, so this is not just a one time product. Spot treatment patches from A’Pieu contain 0.2% essential tea tree oil, salicylic acid, sodium hyaluronate and grape see oil ~ all to help heal, dry up and soothe your acne ~ and you peel them off the cellophane and apply to your blemish. I do this at night time before I go to bed ~ and you leave on for 6 to 12 hours. These work fairly well for an inexpensive brand ~ cosRX spot patches are the gold standard ~ and they will help reduce swelling and redness, as well as start to heal your blemishes. There is nothing more satisfying to see a whitehead defeated after one of these little patches draws out all of that gunk overnight. 12 spot patches RV 50 cents

Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil Moisture Etude House is not my favorite K-Beauty brand, but I am now addicted to Cleansing oils. I am currently testing a crap load of them to have a massive December review dump (haha ~crap~ dump ~ juvvie humor) and I think I will throw this one in my testing routine as well. Pretty much everything in this product is an emollient, emulsifier, solvent, surfactant and/or moisturizer so we shall see how this works on my face for removing makeup. I have oily skin and I do use an oil cleanser to remove my makeup and then follow up with a foaming cleanser, which removes any excess oil residue and grime ~ this is called double cleansing and if you want to read a bit more, check out my blog post here. Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence This is the mini version of the Starting Treatment Essence and I have used this product before. If you have read my past reviews and thoughts on Secret Key, you would know that they are one of my favorite inexpensive brands ~ they do have quality products for less money and if you are on a budget, you should take a long look at their products. I really enjoy this essence, as it is made with one of my favorite ingredients and I own or have used several of the items in the Starting Treatment line. This essence is full of fantastic ingredients for your face: Galactomyces, which has over 50% of proteins, plus Vitamin B1, B2, Niacin and Folic Acid, all which are nourishing and moisturizing to your skin. This fermented product has 7 functions: moisturizing, antioxidant, anti-wrinkle, calming/soothing, whitening (brightening), elasticity and smoothing the skin’s surface. Contains no parabens, mineral oil, benzophenone, alcohol, animal oil, artificial color or artificial fragrance This is a booster product, so you would apply this after you clean your face and it will help amplify your following skincare products. RA & Gowoori Whitening UV Sun Cream SPF 50+/PA+++ I know, it is cold outside (well, almost) and snow will be here, so why a sunscreen? Sun + snow + reflection = UV exposure! It is just as important to wear a sunscreen in the winter time, even when it is cloudy outside. UV rays are always lurking around the corner 🙂 This is from a brand I have never heard of before, RA & Gowoori and this sun cream contains arbutin to lighten your skin tone while titanium dioxide, hexyl methoxycinnamate and 4-methylbenzylidene camphor provide protection from UV exposure. This also has resveratrol, which is made from grapes and is an antioxidant ingredient., so this will help combat free radical damage and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Full Size 70 mL RV $10.00
So… What does PA stand for? I am very familiar with SPF (sun protection factor) and that it ranks based on protection from UVB :: ultraviolet B (shortwave) rays. But the PA rating is something newish to me, and I really notice it on Asian sunscreens, not so much American brands. PA is the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from UVA :: ultraviolet A (long-wave) rays. PA ranks with + signs and the higher the + signs, the more protection you will get from UVA rays.
UVB is what causes sunburns and reddened skin and has direct links to cancer. UVA is what causes us to tan, and age ~ wrinkles and deep lines are caused by UVA exposure. A really fantastic article about ultraviolet rays and how they affect our skin can be found here at the Skin Cancer website and I highly recommend reading it. One thing I have learned is that a broad spectrum sunscreen is the proper choice as it will help deflect the UV rays and not allow them to penetrate into your skin layers.

Hada Labo Tokyo Skin Plumping Gel Cream Yeah! A Japanese brand and it is from Hada Labo, which is a cult favor among Western skin care users. This has some nice ingredients in it ~ squalane, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, alpha-glucan ~ so hydrating and moisturizing for your skin. Along with ceramide and collagen, you have some great anti-aging ingredients too! Ceramides help repair and strengthen your skin barrier, retains water and regulates your skin cells. Collagen is a protein that builds the connective tissue in your body and skin and will help firm and tone, bring back elasticity to your skin. Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream truly is a gel cream, very light, but hydrating and is scentless. When I did a moisture level test on my very dry hand, I received a level of 58.4% moisture, which was actually a jump of 47% (I had really dry hands tonight) so their claims of increasing moisture by 50% is pretty spot on! I am really am jazzed to try this out and wow – you can find it at Ulta, Walgreens and Target! This is a very affordable face cream. Sample Size 10 g RV $5.00

I cannot repeat myself enough about 3B. This has to be one of the best deals out there for a monthly subscription, not only in value but they are really beating the pants off of some other high priced subs with their unique items. This is not the same old box with the same old products. I am also feeling the need to go on a bit of a low buy for a few months after the New Year, as I have so much product right now and I have a lot of full sized items that I want to actually use. However, I want to be able to try and sample new products as well, as 3B box lets me do that easily. I paid $12.00, which includes shipping and the retail value of this bag is $20.88 and received 2 full sized items (spot patch and sunscreen) and 3 deluxe samples.
Did you receive The 3B box this month? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments below!
