October’s theme is “Pumpkin Joi” and believe me, these scents will make you smile (and hungry for some pumpkin gingerbread!) This month, My Butter Bar is donating 10% from their proceeds from The Butter Box to breast cancer research. The packaging is “low-cost” to donate a larger amount. Personally, I think this is a fine thing to do and if they asked their members about packaging (the boxes) vs donating to Breast Cancer research, I bet we would all say donate! #scruboutcancer is their hash tag for the month, and this month does have some great scrubs!
Before I start the unboxing, let me tell you what My Butter Bar is first :) My Butter Bar is a company started by 2 best friends who wanted great smelling bath and body products that weren’t loaded down with chemicals. Their logo is ” ‘Good Enough to Eat’ Products-Period!” They are 100% natural, including the fragrance oils, colorants and preservation methods. They do not use any chemicals or chemically-altered natural ingredients. They also have a monthly subscription service, called The Butter Box. You can choose either from
- The Butter Box Mini – 5 “shots” sized mini products for $19.95 monthly or $50.00 for 3 months
- The Butter Box – 3 to 4 full sized products (valued at $40.00 or more) for $29.95 monthly or $80.00 for 3 months
There is a still a little issue with the products leaking, despite the seals, as you can tell by the photo above.
All of the products that include Shea Butter is using Fair Trade Shea from African Child For Youth and it will help bring water to a child in Ghana.
This month’s box has two sugar scrubs in them, both with amazing lovely scents.
Almond Joi Sugar Scrubz This has the same lovely winey scent that I picked up in last month’s Choco-Strawberry scents. It has an almond scent, with a sweet sugary and a light wine scent to it ~ after looking at the ingredients, it has to be the chocolate fragrance oil! For some reason, my brain is translating that scent to an alcoholic one! haha😀 I am not sure why my nose is picking out this particular note, but it is ~ and I really love it. This is made with almond and shea buttter oils. This scrub made it thru okay, as you can see it is full of oils. The informational card is incorrect ~ these scrubs are not 8 oz, they are 4 oz. The RV is the same, however. Full Size 4 oz RV $12.00
Ingredients: vegan sucrose (sugar), prunus dulcis (almond) oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea better) fruit, natural vegan almond, chocolate & coconut fragrance oil
Pumpkin Spice Latte Sugar Scrubz This smells just like a pumpkin gingerbread. It has apple spices in it, which I assume are spices for pies and cookies, so that would explain the gingerbread scent ~ I bet it does have ginger and cloves in it. I really LOVE this scent ~ very warm, very inviting. This is the scrub that had a transport issue, as it is much drier than the Almond Joi scrub and if you look at the label, it is falling off, due to the oily that escaped. The body wash (coming up) is stained as well from the oils. However, this scrub isn’t that dry that it cannot be used. Full Size 4 oz RV $12.00
Ingredients: vegan sucrose (sugar), prunus dulcis (almond) oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea better) fruit, natural vegan apple fragrance oil
Benefits of Sugar Scrubz
- Exfoliation: Exfoliating speeds up your skins natural renewal process and helps your moisturizer penetrate into the skin deeper.

- Acne Minimizing: Buffing the dead skin away will keep your pores from clogging which keeps acne under control!
Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub Bar This was a randomly selected product ~ the other scent would have been the Almond Joi. I am so pleased that I got the Pumpkin Spice ~ again, it does smell like pumpkin gingerbread and it reminds me of a slice of gingerbread too! I am tempted to eat it! haha This is a great concept to have ~ a portable bar of scrub! 1 bar RV $10.00
All Over Body Wash in Pumpkin Spice Latte I am so happy to see their body wash again in this month’s box. I had received one a couple of boxes ago and totally loved it and now I have one in the delicious pumpkin latte spice scent. This is much lighter in its scent than the scrubs, but I can still pick up the luscious spicy scents. Full Size 8 oz RV $12.00
