Memebox Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Value Set Unboxing!

Innisfree is a company that prides itself on the main ingredients being sourced from the fabulous Jeju Island ~ the closest description I can get of that beautiful tropical paradise is that it is similar to Hawaii, but it has beautiful old Temples as well.   I honestly wish that Innisfree Global would offer more of the items that they sell in their Korean site, but I suppose they think we Westerners wouldn’t like some of those ingredients….pfftt..  Bring it on, I say!    Innisfree is one of my go-to brands, I am always drooling over some of the products they have and check out both their Korean and Global website all the time.   I love their mission statement and how they use the natural resources of Jeju Island.

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.  If you are new to Memebox, you use my referral link here and get 20% off your first order of $25.00 or more!

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence Special Set

This set contains 4 items in the Jeju Sparkling Mineral line, which looks to be fairly new ~ I certainly haven’t noticed at Innisfree Global site before now.  Innisfree Global is currently offering a free water bottle with the purchase of either their Skin, Lotion or Cream in this line.

  • Essence
  • Cleansing Powder
  • Skin (toner)
  • Lotion

Jeju Sparkling Mineral Line provides deep hydration to the skin with carbonated minerals from the sparkling mineral water drawn from UNESCO Global Geopark-designed Sanbang Mountain on Jeju Island for skin that’s clean and filled with moisture like its been soaked in a hot spring

The thermal water is from Sanbangsan mountain on Jeju Island.  It was created by a volcano and the middle of the mountain has a crater and this mountain is home to many famous Buddhist temples.  This water is rich in minerals, which helps revitalize your skin.

Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence  I thought for some reason that it was a facial mist I was getting and I am glad that I was wrong!  This is an essence, which is lighter than a lotion and is applied after your toner.   This is pretty unique for an essence (or at least to me) ~ this actually comes out as a mousse-foam.  This isn’t a manual pump either, where you have to consistently push up and down on the applicator ~ I just press once, it dispense the mousse and if I don’t remove my finger from the applicator, it just keeps coming out.  So far, that is.  I mean, I did a test, and a lot of product came out and it was still trying to dispense more on my skin!   This is pretty exciting because even Innisfree Global doesn’t yet sell the Essence ~ I only see it sold at Memebox and Innisfree Korean.  This contains 70% thermal water and it is very moisturizing for an essence.  My skin is tacky after I massage this rich essence into my skin and I do have to wait until it dries.  I think this essence will be perfect for the cooler months with my oily skin.  They even make one that is called a “rich” essence, which is even more moisturizing!  This does have a light texture and no noticeable scent.  This essence is also supposed to heal skin from the inside out, so it is optimal with those who might suffer irritated, chapped skin, as it will soothe and heal, while ridding your skin of excess dirt, dead skin cells and oil.   It also brightens your skin tone (niacinamide)  while firming and reinforcing your skin moisture barrier.  Full Size 70 mL Retail Value $23.00

Description: Innisfree’s Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence is a mousse-type product that turns liquid when it touches the skin, it’s soft and moisturizing. The micro sparkling technology helps carbon massage skin to boost circulation while the thermal water from Jeju Island’s Sanbangsan, which is filled with carbon and other nourishing minerals, delivers moisture to the deepest layers of the skin.

Ingredients: Onsen-Sui (73.6%), propanediol, glycerth-26, butylene glycol, alcohol, glycerin, water, carbon dioxide, achillea millefolium extract, citrus unshui peel extract, niacinamide, orchid extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, camillia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera (pricky pear) fruit extract, dimethicone, sodium methyl stearoly taurate, squalane, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), phenyl trimethicone, polyglyceryl-2 diisostearate, propylene glycol, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil,  hydrogenated lecithin, phenoxyethanol, fragrance   cosDNA.com analysis

** Do not use the ingredient list from Memebox.  They have it wrong ~ I got the ingredient list straight off the box.

Jeju Sparkling Mineral Powder  This is a 2 step cleansing powder and it will bubble and foam on your skin with effervescent mineral and thermal waters.  I like these single use packets when I travel, as it makes it easy to toss the cleansing powders in my bag, they are light weight and they don’t leak.    I won’t use this now, as I will be traveling at the end of the month, so it will get used at that time.  I actually like carbonated cleansing water ~ it is gimmicky, but it is fun!  This also contains the famous Unshui peel, which helps brighten your skin tone as well.  Full Size 30 gram Value $2.50

Description:  Sparkling water pack benefits: It dissolves easily to form carbonated water that provides all the benefits of both spa therapy and sparkling water pack when washing the face. Contains extract of fresh tangerine peel: Jeju tangerine peel extract cleanses pores and gives the skin an instant brightening effect.  Sparkling bubble massage: Fizzy sparkling bubbles provide a sparkling massage effect on the skin to make it feel smooth and revitalized.

How To Use:  Fill the bowl with water (1.5~2L), put package #1 in and wait until it is fully dissolved.   Add package #2  and stir in the water to make fizzy bubbles. Put your face into the water 2-3 minutes or wash the face using both hands to feel the effect of a sparkling massage.  Once bubbles are all gone, add the remaining powder once again, dissolve into water and wash the face again.  Rinse off the face with lukewarm water.

Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin  Skin is just another name for toner, I have learned!  This is the first step after cleansing your face, you would just apply this rich, thermal water infused ~ 88% ~ toner on your skin.  It is not tacky or greasy and its acid-balanced formula will restore your skin’s pH balance after cleansing.  This contains 88% of sparkling mineral waters, which are rich in minerals to nourish your skin, as well as Carbonic Acid ~ all of the Jeju Sparkling Mineral products contain this ingredient.    Carbonic Acid one of the latest trends that came out of Asian skincare beauty in the last year or so and the beneficial claims are:

  • Clears pores
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Brighten skin
  • Acidic but it is not noticeable and helps prevent wrinkles
  • Carbonated bubbles help with blood circulation
  • Improves skin elasticity
  • Reduces swelling
  • Boosts skin strength
  • Skin feels fresh

This toner is very nice and absorbs quickly into my skin, which is good because the next step, essence, takes longer to absorb.  Deluxe Size 25 mL Retail Value $3.00

Ingredients: onsen-sui(88.0%), propanediol, glycerin, camellia japonica leaf extract, orchid extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, vaccinium myrtillus fruit/leaf extract, saccharum officinarum (sugar cane) extract, citrus medica limonum (lemon) fruit extract, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, sodium hyaluronate, phenyl trimethicone, glycereth-26, methyl gluceth-20, bis-PEG-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane, octyldodeceth-16, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol, fragrance  cosDNA.com analysis

Jeju Sparkling Mineral Lotion  There is a cream version of this, and creams are supposed to be much more rich and dense.  I have to say, this lotion is dense and rich enough for me!!  I would recommend that oily and oily/combo stick with the lotion and drier skin types could use the cream.  This comes out with a light texture, but when I massage it into my skin, I can see how rich and moisturizing this lotion is.  I think I have found my Deep Winter Testing products!!  I will have to purchase the full size Skin and Lotion in a couple of months and start testing these products in December/January timeline.  Are you interested in that test?  I am!   I am pretty happy with this sampler as I have been seeing other brands with sparkling water ingredients, but Innisfree is like my touchstone, along with CosRX, lately.    Like all of the sparkling mineral products, this is a “6-Free System”, which means these products are free of parabens, animal ingredients, mineral oil, colorants, artificial fragrance and imidazolidinyl urea.    This lotion will bring an oil-moisture balance to your skin with macadamia nut oil preventing loss of moisture, keeping your skin very hydrated and moist.  This is the really rich ingredient that I feel when I apply this on my skin ~ very smooth and slick, highly moisturizing.  It contains 61.8% of the sparkling mineral waters, making the skin moist and supple without any tightening of the skin or dry patches.  Deluxe Size 25 mL Retail Value $3.30

Ingredients:  onsen-sui(61.8%), propanediol, hydrogenated poly(C6-14 olefin), glycerin, cyclopentasiloxane, stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, palmitic acid, cyclohexasiloxane, macadamia ternif.olia seed oil, camellia sinensis leaf extract, citrus unshiu peel extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, orchid extract, cetearyl alcohol, tromethamine, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, carbomer, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, fragrance cosDNA.com analysis

It’s Real Squeeze Cucumber Mask  This value set also included 5 It’s Real Squeeze Masks, randomly selected from Cucumber and Green Tea.  I received 3 Cucumber masks.  Despite the fact that many of the It’s Real Squeeze masks contain alcohol, something I didn’t know back when my masks were written all in Korean and I didn’t take the time to translate, these masks are so moisturizing, hydrating and soaked in essence.  If I didn’t read that it had alcohol in it, I wouldn’t have known ~ it doesn’t smell like alcohol and it doesn’t dry out my skin, unlike Missha’s Pure Source, which I loathe.  Anyway, cucumber is really great, as it is a soothing ingredient, while moisturizing.  I find it also helps in reducing swelling and puffiness and it also helps with blemishes too.  I love the sheet masks as it is a triple layer sheet and it is thin but strong.  This mask also contains Jeju Green Complex, which is made from green tea, tangerine (unshui), cactus (prickly pear), camelia leaves and orchid extract ~ this complex is in many of Innisfree’s products, including the Sparkling Mineral line.  3 masks at $1.20 = $3.60

Ingredients:Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Betaine, Citrus Paradisi (grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Juice (200mg), PEG-60 H ydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate,  citrus unshiu peel (tangerine) extract, Orchid Extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, camellia japonica leaf extract, opuntia coccinellifera fruit extract, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance cosDNA.com analysis

It’s Real Squeeze Green Tea Mask   I love green tea ~ it ranks up there with aloe, cucumber and other soothing products.  One of the first Memeboxes I purchased was a green tea box 🙂  Again, these are so moisturizing and hydrating, despite the alcohol in it, that I have to think that this essence is just loaded down with glycerin and hyaluronic acid.    I appreciate the fact that Innisfree sources their main ingredients straight from Jeju Island and that they have a variety of wonderful ingredients to choose from:  green tea, thermal waters, bija, canola honey, soybeans, volcanic clay, seaweed, and so much more!

2 masks at $1.20 each = $2.40

I am very happy that I purchased this value set at Memebox.  They hardly have any Innisfree products in stock and to have a newer Innisfree product line, plus an essence that isn’t even sold yet on Innisfree Global, makes me very pleased.  I do hope this means that Memebox will start stocking more Innisfree at their shop.  There are so many great product lines that Innisfree makes and it is a favorite among K-Beauty Addicts.  I would love them to restock their It’s Real Squeeze masks for starters!!  Like Strawberry and Bija (please!)

I paid $35.00 for this Value Set and received a value of $37.80 (not MemeValue)  It isn’t the “best” deal out there, but it is a solid value set and if you are interested in trying out the Sparkling Mineral product line, you should try this out.  This box is still in stock at Memebox and I have a promo of KAY20, which is good for 20% off your Memebox purchase.  If that doesn’t work, try MEME10, for 10% off.  Also, look for MemeCat this weekend, to earn some Memepoints!

Did you purchase the Innisfree Sparkling Mineral Essence Value Set or are you interested in purchasing any of the Sparkling Mineral products?  Let me know in the comments below 🙂

There are quite a few boxes available at Memebox.  I have unboxed a few of them and also individual products that I feel are worth looking into ~if you are interested in reading about the contents, please check out my blog posts
