Recent Makeup & Skincare Purchases: Memebox XO, Etude House, Club Clio, Innisfree, Urban Decay

I recently purchased some makeup and a cool wash off mask and thought I would do a few swatches and initial impressions blog post on them.  I purchased these items from Memebox, Sephora and ClubClioUSA site and will provide links to the products within this post.

XO I’m Lip Tint Balm in #RD005 Rose Burgundy  I have been very pleased and happy with most of my Memebox XO branded items ~ mainly their lip products and eye shadows (except for that Nylon palette).   I purchased their Liquid Lipsticks a few weeks ago ~ you can read my review here ~ and I have also purchased their Pony Matte Lipsticks and Lip Crayons, so I was overdue for their Tint Balm!  I have so many lip balms, but not that many tinted ones, so I do not feel guilty getting a tinted lip balm.   I chose Rose Burgundy as I really liked how it looked on the website.  This is a very sheer, very moisturizing lip balm ~ it is slick, but not sticky ~ and with one coat, it is a very light pink/reddish shade.  However, wait a few minutes and it will deepen on your lips naturally.  You do not need to apply a lot to get a deeper color, just one coat and wait.  If you want it to be darker after waiting a minute, then apply another coat.  I made the mistake of applying several coats at once on my lips and I had really red lips after that!!   I do like how hydrated my lips feel and the ease of application.   RV $7.00

Description: This moisturizing tint balm reacts with the natural temperature of your lips and sets to a flattering shade that lasts. Infused with herbal ingredients to moisturize and nourish.

This is the lip tint BALM ~ Memebox just released a lot of BOGO items that includes a liquid lipstick plus a free lip tint, which is not the same product as the lip tint balm.  I am interested in the lip tints, but since I have purchased 3 liquid lipsticks already, I am waiting for the lip tints to be sold separately as I really would love to get the Paris Lavender and Russian Purple shades.    The lip tint balm is a solid stick that you apply directly onto your lips and you swivel the tube up when you need more product.  The lip tints are more like a lip gloss, where the applicator is a doe foot and you apply the product onto your lips using that applicator.

There are four colors in the I’m Lip Tint Balm series and you can either purchase them in a set or individually  ~ except for Lovely Coral ~ this is only in the 4 piece set and a Best of Coral lips set.

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk BE101  I had read a lot of good reviews on Etude House Dear My Wish Lipsticks, so I went with a nude-pink shade (BE101).  This is a very creamy and glossy lipstick that has such a good slip and feel to it.   I find on my skin tone, it leans more pink than beige and it is highly pigmented.  I was hoping for more a beige-pink, but that is the luck of the draw with my skin tone!  Perhaps it is more beige on cool toned skin types.   Because of the slip, it isn’t that long lasting, but that isn’t an issue with me, because lipsticks are never long lasting on my lips anyway!  You need to be careful when using this lipstick as if you push too hard on your lips with this product ~ and you do not need to, as it glides on so smoothly and effortlessly ~ it will break in two, because it is so creamy.  This item is currently sold out at Memebox, but you can find it beautynetkorea, along with 9 other colors, for under $10.00

Innisfree Jeju Fermented Leaven Mask  I already own Innisfree Jeju Sudachi Soothing Mask which is a wonderful cooling jelly mask,  and wanted to try this fermented lovely as well.  I saved this for the upcoming cooler months as I find these types of fermented, creamy masks work better for me when the weather is not so hot.  However, I did try it out first to let you know my initial impressions.   This mask is for brightening and smoothing, while moisturizing.  I have never heard of fermented leaven ~ the only “leaven” I know is that Passover doesn’t have bread made with leaven (that would be your Matzos).  Fermented leaven is just yeast, which contains beta-glucan and is a very good antioxidant ingredient.  In this case, it would be the Aspergillus Ferment ingredient ~ which also is supposed to help with reducing hyper-pigmentation.  This product contains 525 mg of yeast and 105 mg of honey, both from Jeju Island.

This mask is very creamy and smooth, even though it looks like there are granules in it, it doesn’t feel grainy.   It doesn’t dry completely, because of its rich creamy nature, so you just wait 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.  It does not have a strong odor at all and it does leave my face feeling very moisturized and soft.  I am not sure on the brightening claim, as that might take several applications, but I do like a nice rich treatment for my face and this one does deliver.  This is currently sold out at Memebox, but testerkorea does carry it.   Full Size 100 mL RV $15.00

It also lifts up skin tone by adding brightness and color to it.

Club Clio Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini Set – The Color of 2014  I was so happy with my Club Clio mini’s from my Beautibi Hold Onto Summer box, that when I saw these at Club Clio, I had to get them.  Yeah I know ~ it is 8 months into 2015, but I don’t care!  I love purple shades and these lovely eye liners are in all shades of purple!   I have found that mini colored eyeliners are the way to go for me ~ I love using them, but I also love purchasing them!  So, having a mini means I will actually use it up!  I rarely use up my full sized colored eyeliners 😦  These are go on smoothly and just like all Korean gel eyeliners, won’t budge once it sets.  RV $20.00

Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks  I own a couple of shades in their original Revolution formula and when they came out with the matte formula, I decided I was overdue for some of their sheer lippies as well.  I purchased two of their sheer and one of their matte lipsticks at Sephora.   The sheer series is very glossy, high shine and sheer, but you can layer the color a bit to deepen it.  These are like lip balms and they are really moisturizing with olive and jojoba oils, shea, avocado and cocoa butters.   The matte lipstick is so creamy and pigmented and goes on smoothly and evenly and is also highly moisturizing with shea and cocoa butters, soybean, olive and jojoba oils.   RV $22.00 each

  1. UD Revolution Sheer in Rapture  My lightest of the trio in a sheer dusty rose ~ it is a barely there look.
  2. UD Revolution Sheer in Shame  This is a sheer berry and a great transition from summer to fall.  This is one of my favorite sheer lipsticks that I currently own.
  3. UD Revolution Matte in 1993  Oh, I am in love.  This is described as a “matte medium brown” and it is a color that I happen to love (yeah, I can’t be the only one who loves these browns!)  This is not drying at all and is very velvet looking when it dries.

Sheer Description: Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™ gives Sheer Revolution its creamy texture, ultimate color dispersion, and extended wear. Infused with a nourishing blend of oils and antioxidants Maxi-Lip™, it defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. Whew, so you can see why I like picking out my own makeup and colors, as most sub boxes don’t really cater to my tastes!  I am very picky about my shades.  I think I am most happy with the UD and Club Clio products for makeup.   The Innisfree mask is something that I am looking forward to using once this weather COOLS down.  I love summer, but right now, it is picking on my last nerve with the heat and humidity.  I don’t think it has been this bad for a long time.  Even BEARS are trying to cool off ~ check out this video about Mama Bear and her 5 cubs taking a swim in a NJ swimming pool!

Have you tried any of these products?  What shades do you own or what do you want on your bucket list from here?

    1. yes, it does make it difficult – that is why I try to let my readers know that I am a light warm tone (MAC NW20) and try to do swatches. Memebox does have a 90 day return policy, so you could purchase them first and see if it works – if it doesn’t, you can return it. They make no mention of used items, so I am sure they take that into account that people can be allergic to products or the colors don’t suit them.
