Indigo Wild Zum Bar Soap Haul!

I love artisan crafted bar soaps and am always looking for very fragrant and colorful soaps that are organic and good for your skin. I have tried a few soap subscription boxes ~ some I did not even bother to review here, because the scent was so dismal, despite the rave reviews I read! I have been not thrilled with some soaps lately, as even though the product is well made, great ingredients, the scents are like non-existent. If a soap is supposed to be citrus, then it should smell like a citrus explosion! Well, for me, anyway. I do know that some people don’t like heavily scented soaps, and for florals, I would agree. But I love strong citrus, mints, woodsy, spicy scents.

A lovely lady that I met thru sent me some soaps when she found out my quest for artisan soaps that smelled great.   They are from a company called Indigo Wild and the soaps are called Zum Bar.   They make other products as well, but it is their soaps that keep me going back for more!    Zum Bars are made with goat’s milk

Why? Because goats milk is very good and never ba-ha-ha-ha-had. Goat’s milk, the main ingredient in our Zum Bars, is naturally ultra-moisturizing, naturally balanced for the skin, and naturally homogenized. (So in case you happen to have a pet goat, you could truly drink the milk straight from the teat. But that would make you creepy and it might freak out your goat.)

The truth is, goat’s milk is probably the absolute best mix of “good for you” and “good for nature.” Unlike commercial soap, goat’s milk soap contains capric, caprylic and capronic acids, and the naturally occurring triglycerides. Otherwise known as good fats. These good fats in goat’s milk result in a pH level so close to the pH level of your own skin, it helps to moisturize and keep your skin’s oils in balance.

Goat’s milk has a pH level that’s as near to skin as a pair of faux leather pants. A pH level that’s well balanced for healthy human hair and skin, while commercial soap can dry out the skin to the point at which it feels taut and itchy. The oil glands are forced to counteract, overproducing oils in an attempt to rebalance the pH of the skin. The result can be oily skin, clogged pores, blackheads and yuck – pimples.

Goat’s milk offers an alphabet soup of vitamins. With its restorative vitamins, minerals and proteins, goat’s milk soap simply maintains the balance. And no worries for people who have allergies to usual dairy products or sensitive skin.

Naturally-occurring glycerin. Another benefit to using Zum Bar Goat’s Milk Soap is the presence of naturally-occurring glycerin. Since we use a cold-processed method, we do not add extra heat which maintains the integrity of the goat’s milk, food grade olive, coconut, palm and castor oils and 100% PURE essential oils. In the process of saponification, reactions between all of these ingredients produce the soap and a natural byproduct, super-moisturizing glycerin. Many big soap companies remove the glycerin and sell it for extra profit, but not us! It’s called glycerin, not glycerout. Glycerin is a natural moisturizer and a humectant, which help to pull impurities from your skin’s pores and leave it moisturized, healed and protected.

Indigo Wild’s store is amazing ~ they have soaps, bath and body products, laundry, facial scrubs, foot scrubs, serums, facial cleansers, household cleansers ~ it is pretty amazing and you should check it out!  The only downside for me is the shipping costs ~ I am sure it is the proper rate, but wow ~ it gets expensive!   They have a store locator, but most of the stores near me, aren’t really near me…sigh.  However, I do shop at, which is a really cool site for natural and organic products and they do carry a subset of Indigo Wild’s products and FREE SHIPPING for orders over $20.00 (USA) and if international,  you get super discounted shipping rates with a purchase of $40.00 or more.  So, off I went to iHerb and bought my own soap box!  This will last me a while🙂

If you want to save $10.00 on a $40.00 purchase, you can use my referral link – first time customers only at iHerb!

All of these hand made soaps lather up nicely and have a great scent.  Their soaps are vegetarian (not vegan, because of the goat’s milk) and all of their products are gluten free, except for zum body lotions and oatmeal-lavender Zum Bar.   Their rosemary extract is gluten free and contains soy.  Their soaps are free from animal tallow, synthetic colorings and fragrances.  They are super emollient and ultra moisturizing.   The ingredients list for all of the soaps are

Saponified 100% food grade olive, coconut, palm, and castor oils, in a goat’s milk base, with pure essential oils and mineral pigments

Unless otherwise noted, all soaps were purchased at iHerb for $5.18 each for a 3 oz bar.  Since this is a haul review, I will use the description for the scent off the package label.  Look how colorful these soaps are!!

  1. I took some of the soap shavings in the Zum Bar Sachet and put them in a pump bottle, added water, and made my own liquid hand soap. It smells sooooo good.

My favorite item that I keep going back for is the laundry soap, with Sea Salt being my favorite thus far. My laundry room smells so good.
