LuxePineapple Work It Box of Joy Unboxing!

LuxePineapple is an un-subscription box service that I purchase from on occasion.    You don’t subscribe to them ~ you pick out the “Box of Joy” that you like, so that it works best for your own taste.   They only send out the Box of Joy details in their newsletter, so sign up on their sight if you are interested in them.  They also do a BYOB ~ Build Your Own Box ~ 4 times a year, where you can customize your own Box of Joy at a huge discount.

How does LuxePineapple offer such great products at low prices?  They work the same way as big retailers like TJ Maxx or Marshalls work ~ they purchase overstocks, discontinued, old packaging products from the manufacturers and they only purchase real, not fake, items.  They vet their vendors carefully and I have been very pleased with their service.

A fellow beauty blogger (and I am proud to call her my friend as well), whom I have teamed up in the past with our K-Beauty Blog Hops, Heather at My Little Box Blog, curated a Box of Joy with LuxePineapple and I had been waiting for it to be released!  It was released last monday, I purchased it and now I have an unboxing for you!

Our Pineapple Lovely curator and blogger extraordinaire Heather has a conservative day job but still loves to have fun with her makeup! She has created a full look for the Pineapple Lovelies.

Look how pretty the packaging is!  Also, I didn’t take a photo of it, but when I opened it, it had a foam topper and then everything was nested nicely in bright pink paper crinkles.

Informational Card

LuxePineapple Collection Baked Shadow Trio in Seattle I received their Honolulu trio in my Beach Babe box and I love it!  This trio is called Seattle and it is an explosion of dark plum, light shimmery pink and a bold magenta.   I have green-blue eyes and when I wear purple shades, my eyes really turn a bright green!  I have chameleon eyes ~ they take on different colors depending on my eyeshadow ~ from blue-grey, grey, taupe (yes, taupe, as I have gold flecks in my eyes), aqua and green-blue and bright green.   Unlike the Honolulu trio, I do not need any eye primer first, these shades are very vibrant!   I will have swatches at the end of this blog post and also how I used my Work It eye products!  This is paraben free, and contains Vitamin E, Green Tea, Chamomile and Ginkgo Biloba, which are rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants.   This shadow is made in the USA and this trio is exclusively available in this Box of Joy (at this time)    Full Size Value $15.00

Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Triisosterin, Octyldodecanol, Dimethicone, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Disodium Edta, Tocopheryl Acetate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide

Benefit Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow in No Pressure This is a lovely shimmery rich fawn shade with plum undertones.  Cream eyeshadows are tough for me, as I have oily eyelids, but I have had great luck with Benefit’s Creaseless Eye Shadows in the past ~ they really do stay put!   I own Birthday Suit & Skinny Jeans, and they are pretty much goof-proof.  This is a great color for the lid portion of your eye area and I also like to layer powder shadows over it as well, to really deepen colors.   I also love the box design for this product ~ very art deco!   Deluxe Size 3.2 g Value $10.00

Ingredients: Isododecane, Mica, Polyethylene, C13-16 Isoparaffin, C12-14 Isoparaffin, Lauryl Phenylisopropyl Methicone, Methyl Trimethicone, C13-15 Alkane, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Behenyl Dimethicone, Acrylates / Dimethicone Copolymer, Disteardimonium Hectorite, C20-24 Olefin, Propylene Carbonate, Tin Oxide. Tarte Maracuja Cheek Tint in Deep Berry   This was going to be randomly selected from Light Nectar or Deep Berry, but if you really had a preference, you could ask for the color you wanted in the comments and LuxePineapple would try to honor it.  I requested Deep Berry, as I don’t have anything like this shade currently.  I have never tried Tarte Maracuja Cheek Tint (TMCT from now on) and am very interested in how it works.  I’ve used Cheek Tints before and I have to say, this one really blows them away.  This is a cheek tint and STAIN.  You don’t need a lot of this product ~ a little dab will do ya nicely as this stuff is really pigmented.  My fingers were stained when I swatched this!  When I actually used it on my face, I used my e.l.f. stipple brush.  Side Topic:  My local CVS is carrying e.l.f ~ yeah ~ and I was able to pick up a couple of cheap, but great brushes by them.  I don’t have to use my expensive stipple brush with these really heavily pigmented stains.  I don’t live near a Target, so to see e.l.f. in my drugstore makes me happy.

Okay, back to TMCT ~ this color is really bright when it comes out of the pump, but when it is blended in, it is a beautiful fresh berry color.  The blended swatch  will be at the end of the blog post.   And it is long lasting too  ~ it stains, so work quickly with it so you don’t get a bright berry spot somewhere on your face where you do not want it!  This can also be used as a lip stain, so this product will come in handy when I travel.   Full Size .35 oz Value $12.00

Description:  Infused with pure maracuja oil, this brightening cheek tint is loaded with antioxidant-rich nutrients. Experience the true uniqueness and the cooling sensation of the pure undiluted maracuja in this blush as you effortlessly dab and blend the gel-like texture to the apples of your cheeks for a harmonious healthy glow.

LuxePineapple Kohl Eyeliner in Violet   This is a lovely kohl eyeliner pencil in a deep plum/purple shade.  It is deep and not a bright color, so I consider it to be a neutral shade that can be worn not only with the Seattle collection, but brown, grey, navy eye shadows as well.   This is a Kohl eyeliner, so it is much more smooth and easy to glide on than a normal eyeliner pencil and it is great for smudging and blending.  This shade is also exclusive to this collection, so don’t look for it yet in their store!  Full Size 1.1 g Value $13.00

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis Oil, Microcrystalline Wax, Paraffin, Petrolatum, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Carnauba Cera, Cera Alba, Lanolin, BHT, Propylparaben

LuxePineapple Lip Gloss in Radiant  This is a pretty shimmery nude-pink lip gloss.  I just received a similar color in my Target Head of the Class Beauty Box, so I will be either gifting/swapping or putting this in a giveaway.  This shade is also exclusive to this box and with such bold eye colors, having a nude lip helps balance out the dark shades.  This has vitamin E for moisture and is ultra shiny. Paraben and cruelty free and made in the U.S.A  Full Size 9 g Value $15.00

Ingredients: Polybutene, Petrolatum, Octyldodecanol, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Myristyl Lactate, Ozokerite Wax, Beeswax, Dipentaerythrityl Tetrahydroxystearate / Tetraisostearate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol.May Contain: Mica, Castor Oil, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, FD&C Blue #1 Lake, FD&C Yellow #6 Lake, D&C Red #21 Lake, D&C Red #7 Lake, D&C Red #6 Lake, D&C Red #27 Lake, D&C Red #36 Lake, Bismuth Oxychloride, Carmine, Fragrance

LuxePineapple Lip Liner in Nude  I don’t use lip liner that much and when I do, they are darker colors, as I use them with lip balm and create my own “lipstick”.  This is a pretty nude shade that works really well with the Radiant Lip gloss.  Again, I will be swapping/gifting or putting this in a giveaway.  Full Size 1.1 g Value $13.00

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis Oil, Microcrystalline Wax, Paraffin, Petrolatum, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Carnauba Wax, Cera Alba, Lanolin, BHT, Propylparaben

Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in But Daddy  I am having a hard time with the name of this nail polish! haha  This was the extra gift in the Work It Box of Joy and But Daddy is a lovely lilac purple shade. I am not really into pastels by themselves, so if I do decide to keep this, I probably will put a glitter top coat on it!  I have used Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish before ~ I have a nice deep vampy shade (Just Talk to My Lawyer) and they are really good polishes.  They are non-toxic and 5-free (no formaldehyde, camphor, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, formaldehyde resin), are vegan and no animal testing is performed.  Full Size 17 mL  Value $15.00

Ingredients:  Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Adipic Acid/ Neopentyl Glycol/ Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Styrene/ Acrylates, Copolymer, May Contain: Benzophenone-1,CI 77891, CI 19140, CI 15850, CI 15850, CI 15880, CI 77491,_CI 77499, CI 77510, CI 77163 Polyethylene Terephthalate, Aluminium Powder, Mica, Dibenzoate

  2. Tarte Cheek Stain in Deep Berry (blended)
  3. Benefit Creaseless Eyeshadow in No Pressure
  4. LuxePineapple Seattle Eyeshadow Trio: Deep Plum-Brown
  5. LuxePineapple Seattle Eyeshadow Trio: Light Pink

The eye look that I like uses all of the eye shades here.  I first do an all over wash with my Mac Brule eye shadow ~ a matte soft creamy beige ~ it is my eyelid shade and gives a uniform look to my eye.  Then I take Benefit Creaseless in No Pressure and place on the upper lid starting from the lash line right to the crease. Using the plum-brown shade from LuxePineapple Seattle trio, I use that as a crease shade, starting from the end of my eye and working back over the lid and crease.  As I have heavy lids, bedroom eyes, I build it up more over my crease so that the color will be noticed.   Taking the bright berry-magenta shade from LuxePineapple Seattle trio, I use a small precision brush and work that color right into the crease, just to add a pop of color when I close my eyes.   Then, I line my upper lid with LuxePineapple Kohl eyeliner in Violet.  Finally, I use a small precision brush and in the inner corner of my eye, I add a bit of the light pink from LuxePineapple Seattle trio.  I top off with mascara!   I do need to get those face cards ~ like Mac uses ~ to show this, but I rarely do makeup looks, so I haven’t printed them off.  I will do that next week and upload it here.

Update:  I did a face sheet!  It is harder than it looks :)  The colors look muddy because it is on paper and this is my first attempt at it.  However, this should give you a basic idea of how to place the shadows.

  1. Mac Brule eye shadow ~ all over eye
  2. Benefit Creaseless in No Pressure ~ apply on upper eyelid, starting at lash line right to crease of eye.
  3. LuxePineapple Seattle trio ~ plum-brown shade ~ work into crease and slightly above the crease.
  4. LuxePineapple Seattle tri ~ bright berry-magenta shade ~ apply right into the outer crease
  5. LuxePineapple Kohl eyeliner in Violet ~ upper lash line.
  6. Tonymoly Crystal Blush in #03 Pleasure Peach
  7. Givenchy Rouge Interdit Lipstick in #65 Enigmatic Rosewood
  8. LuxePineapple Seattle trio ~ light pink  ~ inner corner of eye

Fantastic job from Heather!  I am picky about my makeup boxes but when I saw the colors, brands and choices in here, I had to get it ~ I was waiting impatiently for this to go on sale last Monday!!  I paid $24.50 + $2.50 in shipping and I did use some of my rewards at LuxePineapple ~ they give your reward points for purchases made, which you can convert to “cash” at their site ~ so the grand total was $22.00.  I received a value of $93.00!   This box is still available at LuxePinneapple, so if you love purples, grab it while you can!
