Unboxing July 2015 The 3B Box!

I received my July The 3B Box the other day ~ It really does come in a box, but the products are in a nice chiffon bag, so I am always confused what to call it!  What is 3B (Beauty Beyond Borders)?  It is an Asian sample monthly subscription box and is very affordable at $12.00/monthly.  It is similar to ipsy and Birchbox, where you get 4 to 5 deluxe samples (and sometimes a full sized item!)

If you are interested in 3B, you can sign up for their waitlist ~ it took me almost 2 months to get off their waitlist, which is fine, because they are being very careful not to have their service suffer by over subscribing customers.  More about 3B’s monthly service:

Each box contains a collection of deluxe samples that are new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on. The products will change each month, and you’ll get to try new skincare, haircare, nailcare, and cosmetic products. Sample products range from go-to brands such as Lioele, Etude House and Skinfood to high-end premium brands like SK-II, Kanebo, and Sulwhasoo. Don’t worry about not being able to read Japanese or Korean – we’ve got you covered with English translations of descriptions in each box. (https://the3bbox.com/the-box/)

Informational Card

This month The 3B Box stated that it would be all one brand ~ Skinfood ~ which is a very popular Korean skincare and makeup line!  I am always happy to try Skinfood ~ it was one of my first Korean brands that I fell in love with.

Skinfood Black Bean Eyeliner in #1 Black  I’ve tried Skinfood’s Black Bean line before ~ their eyebrow pencil and also their nose patch.   This is made with black soybeans, which helps moisturize your skin.  Even though it is a black eyeliner, I love Korean gel liners ~ they never budge!   This also has a smudging sponge on the other end, to help with a smokey eye look.  I am pretty happy to have this eyeliner in my collection.   This is not waterproof.  Full Size Value $6.00

Ingredients:  lanolin oil, oleyl alcohol, octyldodecanol, diisostearyl malate, ceresin, polydecene, microcrystalline wax, ozokerite, isotridecyl isononanoate, polyethylene, isohexadecane, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, glycine soja (soybean) oil, BHT, propylparaben, butylparaben, maganese violet (CI 77742), ultramarines (CI 77007), red 7 (CI 15850:1), ferric oxide (CI 77491), titanium dioxide (CI 77891), hydrated ferric oxide (CI 77492), black oxide of iron (CI 77499)  cosDNA.com analysis

Skinfood Rice Wash Off Mask Pack  I have tried all of the Skinfood wash off packs, except their egg white one ~  I’ve tried their black sugar, strawberry black sugar, honey black sugar and this one, the rice wash off mask.  In fact, the Rice Wash Off was my very first Skinfood product EVER.  I really like this mask pack, as it gently exfoliates with little granules and contains rice bran water, which helps moisturize, soften and brighten your skin tone.  It has a creamy texture, light but not runny or watery.  It also has a light scent that reminds me of rice and it is very cooling when I apply it to my face.   The instructions state to massage in it for 10 to 15 minutes, but I really don’t have time for that.  I usually massage it into my skin for about 1 minute or two and leave on for 10-15 minutes, then massage some more and rinse off with warm water.  I normally use my Rice mask during the winter time, as this is very moisturizing and I can use the extra hydration in the cooler months.  Full Size 100 g Value $14.00

Description:  A wash-off mask that transforms skin int a pure and soft texture, and contains rice bran water.

How to use: After cleansing, gently massage with ample amount over dry face avoiding eyes and mouth area. Concentrate around nose area and repeat it using grains. Rinse with lukewarm water after 10 to 15 minutes of massage.

Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner  I love the Fresh Apple Sparking Toner ~ It is a great toner for those who have oily skin and pore issues. This has apple extracts (8,000mg), which contain tannins to help reduce the appearance of your pores and control oiliness, and sparkling water (48,000mg) , which will moisturize and nourish with its minerals.   Perfect for the summer time!

  • Fresh Apple Story: Unripe green apples have a bitter, astringent flavor. This green apple extract helps control sebum production and tighten enlarged pores
  • Carbonated Water Story: Cho Jung Sparkling Water, one of the world’s best carbonated waters, refreshes and tones skin naturally.

Sample Size 5 mL  Value $.75

Description: Removes all traces of impurities and residue left behind by your cleanser, while also absorbing excess oil to leave a fresh, matte finish. Its unique formula allows better absorption of moisture and nutrients from subsequent skin care products. Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Emulsion  This is a lightweight, water based emulsion from the Fresh Apple line.  It is perfect for those with oily skin (me!) as it won’t clog up your pores, like non-water based emulsions.   It also helps reduce the appearance of your pores as well.  This emulsion goes hand in hand with the toner.     Sample Size 5 mL Value $.75

Ingredients:  water, carbonated water (16,000 mg), pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract (8,000mg), glycerin, alcohol, sorbitol, hydrolyzed wheat protein/PVP crosspolymer, carbomer, triethanolamine, PPG-26-Buteth-26,PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium polyacrylate, hydrogenated lecithin, propylene glycol, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, argania spinosa kernel oil, stearyl glycyrrhetinte, serenoa serrulata fruit extract, beta-sitosterol, dimethicone, tocopherol (vitamin E), phenoxyethanol, methylparaben, fragrance  cosDNA.com analysis

I am very pleased with this month’s bag ~ I received 2 full sized items plus the Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore samples.   This is a great month for me, as I love Skinfood products and I also love that these are products that I will use.   I paid $12.00, which includes shipping and the retail value of this bag is $21.50.  Yes, you can find these products cheaper at Korean online shops, but you will pay a bit for shipping.  I used the retail price for the items, not the deep discounted prices you can find at Rose Rose Shop, but in the long run, you can find these items fairly inexpensively.

Did you receive The 3B box this month?  What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments below!
