I love tropical anything ~ this goes back to my love of citrus and tropical scents are just a natural extension of that! Many tropical fruits are high in Vitamin C and also are great for oily, acne prone skin with brightening properties. I honestly think I would be very happy living the rest of my life on a tropical island 🙂 Memebox currently has a Tropical Fruit Smoothie box and I purchased it ~ it is still available at the time I wrote this blog post.
I have a whole section in my blog, devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.
Tropical Fruit Smoothie Box #fruitforyourskin

Natural Energy Mask Sheet Kiwi I actually received this mask in my Botanic Farms box last month and I really liked it! I am now a fan of kiwi facial sheet masks. As I did all of that research earlier for this mask, I will just repeat that info here again. This is a brightening and cooling mask to help revive dull skin and not only does it have Kiwi extract (20mg), it contains something called “Herb (Hurb) Complex” which is made up of
- 녹차 – Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis)
- 금은화 – Honeysuckle (Lonicera Japonica)
- 백작약 – White Peony (Paeonia Albiflora)
- 황금 – Scutellaria Baicalensis
- 고삼 – Sophora Angustifolia
- 도엽- Something leaves. I am not sure – but I have the feeling this is the Peach Leaves (Prunus Persica)
- 은행잎 – Ginkgo Biloba
All of the Natural Energy Masks have the Herb Complex, made with a natural cellulose sheet mask and is free from: parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, synthetic dye, silicone, animal raw materials and talc (7 free). Value $2.00

Goodal Phytoshine Açaíberry Brightening Emulsion I love the fermented goodness that is Goodal and I also love brightening products! I have received a sample of this product from Goodal about a couple of months ago and I really love this product. Emulsions are a lightweight textured cream, not watery, but not thick either. This product has no strong scent to it and is made from Acai Berries, which are tropical cherries, for a lack of a better description. Açaí Berries are very rich in antioxidants, which help remove toxins from the body as well combating free radicals. Açaí berries also are a natural brightening ingredient, to help even out your skin tone and reverse hyper-pigmentation damage.
This also has a lot of citrus/fruit extracts ~ grapefruit, bergamot, orange, lime, black current, olive ~ as well as herbal/floral ingredients ~ coriander, sage, anise, Atlas cedar, chamomile, vanilla, wormwood, sandalwood, lavender and rose ~ and nut oils ~ brazil, murumuru and macadamia. Yes, there is rose flower extract in this, but it is way down the ingredient list. I was able to test it out with the sample I had received, and I did not suffer any allergic reaction to it. Goodal Phytoshine Açaíberry Brightening Emlusion goes on smoothy, absorbs quickly and leaves behind soft, hydrated skin ~ there is a sheen to my skin, but it isn’t sticky or greasy. This product does not contain parabens, synthetic fragrances, dyes, mineral oils, alcohol or phenoxyethanol. This is a nice big bottle and I am glad to have this! I love Goodal products and I am SO happy Memebox is putting more and more Goodal items in their boxes. Not to mention this is a whitening product and you all know I look products that can help with my hyper-pigmentation issues. Full Size 130 mL Value $30.00

SNP Don’t Worry Mango Sleeping Pack I LOVE this! I love mango ingredients as they are full of AHA and moisturizing properties. I am a little disappointed that alcohol is in this pack, however. This is full of great ingredients besides the alcohol ~ panthenol, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera, propolis, green tea, willow bark, rice bran, collagen, betaine, tomato ~ all of these products are designed to help brighten, moisturize, combat anti-aging as they are high in anti-oxidant properties, full of vitamins and minerals. Each one of these packs are good for 2 to 3 uses, so don’t try and slather it on all at once! A sleeping pack is a night moisturizer that is your last step in your nightly treatment (excluding any spot treatments you might need to apply on top of that). It will lock in all of your other products ~ toner, serum, essence, moisturizing products ~ and create a barrier so that it will keep moisture in and allow your other nightly products to work more effectively. This product is free from paraben, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils and artificial colors (I wish it was free from alcohol too…) Full Size 8g x 4 pieces Value $8.00

Skinfood Avocado Rich Leave-in Fluid I started to use leave in products when I received the Palan Crysence Organic Hair Essence in my Memebox Global 12 (ahhh, those WERE the days….) I am picky about what leave in products to use, as I have very oily and fine hair and I do not need to weigh my hair down further with a product that is too rich. I did a bit of research on this product and decided to give it a try as it didn’t sound like it was a heavy rich moisturizing product. I am so pleased with this! It does give some volume to my hair and smooths it nicely. I only use this for the ends of my hair, not around my scalp, so this bottle will last me a while ~ if you have long hair or plan to use it from the top of your head to the ends of your hair, then you might go thru this a bit faster. The pump applicator makes this an easy product to apply. This is a light weight conditioner cream and it has a nice fresh fruit scent ~ it isn’t avocado, but something else and it is very pleasant. My hair is soft, with volume and it is not greasy. Avocados have been used for hair treatments since the Ancient Egyptians and it helps promote hair growth, due to vitamins B and E, that work to protect and strengthen hair at the cellular level. Vitamin B is needed for hair growth and Vitamin E will repair scalp damage. Full Size 110 mL Value $9.40
Description: Intensive leave-in hair formula moisturizes dull hair using avocado extracts, known for their rich moisture contents. Continued treatment helps provide rich moisture and necessary nourishment to dry and damaged hair

Skinfood Pineapple Peeling Gel How ironic! I did a haul from testerkorea.com almost 2 months ago and this was one of the items I ordered! It is a good thing that I really like this peeling gel, so I don’t mind having an “extra” on hand. This is the time of the year for me to really use my peeling gels, as I do have more oil production in the summer and more clogged pores because of it. The scent is a very sharp scent that reminds me of an unripe pineapple, which isn’t a bad scent. It is not sweet or sugary like a ripe pineapple ~ but I do like the smell. This is a very creamy gel that has bits of fibers in it. Pineapple enzyme is a really great AHA product to help unclog pores and remove dead skin. The tube has a nozzle applicator and you just squeeze the tube and the product comes out pretty easily. When I wrote up my review on the Secret Key Lemon Detox peeling gel, I explained what they were and I will repeat that information:
What are peeling gels? Good question…. Peeling gels are not peels ~ they are actually non-physical exfoliators that use fruit enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and unclog pores, which you can see as you massage it onto your skin. They revitalize and refresh the skin and only remove a small amount of superficial skin. Peeling gels must be applied to clean, DRY skin, otherwise, they do not work as well. Peeling gels should also have an alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic, citric, lactic) as this acid helps in removing dead skin cells ~ lemons and papayas naturally contain alpha hydroxy acids. Another common ingredient is hyaluronic acid, as that will increase moisture and hydration and improve your skin’s texture and tone.
However, there are some peeling gels out there on the market that I consider bogus and the way you can test if a peeling gel is actually working to remove dead skin cells is really simple. Just put some of your peeling gel on a counter top or dish and rub it in. If you see any clumping after you rub it in, then it is bogus. Sorry, but counter tops and dishes do not slough off dead skin cells. You should only see the clumps when it is applied to skin, as the oils from your skin is what should activate the fibers and enzymes in a peeling gel. Those clumps are part product (listed as acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer or carbomer or cellulose), part your skin cells, held together with the oils from your skin. If the clumps are greyish-white in color as well, don’t worry ~ that just means that your skin was dirty!
Some key properties/ingredients
- Pineapple has a high Vitamin C and bromelain ~ an enzyme that softens the skin and reduces inflammation ~ and makes this fruit a great acne treatment as well as an anti-aging product. Vitamin C will help combat free radicals and repair your cells and tissue damage caused by them
- Apple also contains Vitamin C, which will help produce collagen to regain a fuller, plumper skin texture. It also contains copper, which helps you produce melanin and protects your skin from UV damage.
- AHA (alpha-hydroxy-acids) These acids will help unclog your pores, remove waste and debris from your skin, reduce oil and will help shed the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing newer, brighter skin.
- Tartaric Acid is found in plants, such as apples and pineapples and it helps with uneven skin tones and redness.
- Citric Acid (sodium citrate) is found in citrus (orange, lemon, lime) products and the low pH (acidity) of this acid makes it very effective in peels and exfolitaors.
- Glycolic Acid will resurface your skin and it can break the bonds between old dead skin cells and healthy skin, which will allow the older skin to be removed and the newer, healthier skin revealed.
- Malic Acid is an acid found in fruit, such as apples. Malic acid will help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well reduce hyper-pigmenation and provide an overall brightening to your skin tone. It also is an antioxidant as well.
This peeling gel does contain a nice variety of peeling ingredients in it and I have found to be effective in unclogging my pores. I rank this peeling gel to be a step down from my beloved Secret Key Lemon Detox, as I do remove points for having parabens and alcohol in it along with more acne triggers, but it is effective and I have no adverse reactions to it. I did a pH test on this and it falls at the 5 pH level. Full Size 100 mL Value $15.20
This product does pass the plate test, as it did not ball up on the plate like it did my skin.

Wow – Memebox ~ I am very happy with my boxes lately! The Intense Hydration box and now the Tropical Fruit Smoothie box! Good job 🙂 I will use all of these products and I like that Memebox added what I consider a higher end product (Goodall) with popular brands (Skinfood) and new brands (Botanic Farm and SNP). This is how a box should be curated. This box is still available and I do recommend it. I paid $39.00 for this box and I received a MemeValue of $64.40 ~ I will say you won’t find that Goodal product that much cheaper than $30.00 and the SNP mango sleep packs are almost $20.00 on amazon.com!
Did you purchase the Tropical Fruit Smoothie Box? What did you think about it and what is your favorite product? I think, much to my surprise, it is the Skinfood Avocado Rich Leave-In Fluid! It is rare that I would love a hair leave-in treatment product 🙂
