Secret Key High Lasting Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++   Well, I knew a sunscreen would be included ~ every vacation, you need some type of sunscreen, unless you are going caving or something.  This sunscreen has SPF50+, is supposed to control oiliness and have a matte finish, which I hope that is the case!  This has a lasting power of at least 12 hours and according to what I have read about this product, oily skin types can use this.    This contains a lot of fruit extracts, which contain minerals, vitamins, anti-aging and antioxidant properties ~ blueberry, raspberry and blackberry.  And for once, Memebox undervalued this product ~ It should be valued at around $10.00.  Secret Key doesn’t make it easy to translate the ingredients, as they do images, so I will translate the ingredients, but not until later on this week.  I have included the Korean list here in case you cannot wait for me to translate it. Full Size 50 mL Value $5.00

Banila Co The Kissest Water Beam Tint in Garosu Aura   Wait a minute here…didn’t I get this product in a recent box?  Yep, I did ~ it was the Show Some Skin box and and it was in Seoul Sunset, a bright orange.  This one is in a bright color as well ~ raspberry pink ~ but it is wearable.  I do not like that Memebox is sending out what I consider repeats in closely released boxes…even if it is a different color.  This tint is sparkly, but it isn’t that noticeable and it does leave behind a tint, even after I removed the gloss from my hand I guess these tints are named for Seoul, as Garosu could mean Sinsadong garosu-gil, a Gingko tree lined street, that is hip, upscale and has lots of coffee shops and designer stores.   Full Size 4.3 g Value $12.00

Ingredients: water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tromethamine, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Carbomer, Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Red No 33 (CI 17200), Acid Red No 18 (CI 16255)  cosDNA.com analysis

Holika Holika One Solution – Clear Ampoule   Now, we are talking!  This product will help clear your skin of pimples and just keep oil and future breakouts under control.  This is made with high concentrated 100% wintergreen extract, an ingredient I haven’t seen before in my skincare line.   There is not water in this product and wintergreen, like tea tree oil, treats acne by removing the bacteria from the affected area (zit).   Wintergreen is both an antiseptic and astringent, so it will help clear up your skin while closing up pores.  It also is an analgesic, which is helpful if your skin is hurting ~ and some pimples do hurt!  It will numb that area.  Plus it smells really nice.    I am pretty excited to have this in my skincare routine, with the summer (hot, muggy, steamy) months ahead.   I love the pretty green bottle this comes in ~ I’ve been re-reading some Harry Potter books, and all I can think of when I see this is Snape and his potions class!   Holika Holika also makes a whitening and anti-wrinkle one solution ampoule as well.  Full Size 30 mL  Value $22.00

Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel   I really like Holika Holika’s Aloe Body Wash and wish that was included in this box, but the gel is also nice.   I call these things Demon Penises because of their shape ~ I know it is supposed to be an Aloe Vera leaf, but I have a dirty mind.  Canna help it.   This is a huge bottle-full of aloe vera gel ~ 99% pure and from Jeju Island.  This also has bamboo, cucumber, cabbage and watermelon extracts, as well as lotus flower.  It can be used for a variety of uses, from sunburn, cooling skin, insect bites, rashes ~ aloe has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.   It helps soothe and cool your skin ~ I know, because my skin gets really hot in the summer time and I just lather aloe vera gel onto my skin to cool it down.  I love the scent of Aloe too, and I need to pick up their body wash soon, as it is just a lovely summer time scent.   Hint: for items this heavy, I always check out beautynetkorea.com as they have free shipping and low prices.  If you don’t mind waiting 2 to 3 weeks for your items, this is a great place to purchase those heavy Korean skincare products!  Full Size 250 mL Value $10.00

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Nelumbo Nucifera (lotus) Flower Extract, Centella asiatica extract, Bambusa Vulgaris (bamboo) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Leaf Extract, Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Polyacrylate, carbomer, triethanolamine, fragrance, phenoxyethanol cosDNA.com analysis

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Neon Beam Nails (assorted colors)  I received a bright neon yellow with a slight greenish tint called Lime Kiss.  This is fine for the summer time and my toes.  I will probably do blue dots or a glitter top coat over this as well.  This does have a slight fruity smell over the strong nailpolish scent and these are supposed to glow in the dark!  I think it needs to be exposed to sunlight or light in general, for a while before the glow in the dark properties take place.   My swatch didn’t glow in the dark, but then again, I didn’t leave it out in direct light either.  I would have liked to get the peach or orange color, but I am doomed to get yellow nail polishes from Memebox.  Full Size 10 mL Value $7.00

Ingredients: Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose,  Acrylates Copolymer, titanium dioxide , Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate, yellow 11 (CI 47000), camphor, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Octocrylene, ethanol, citric acid, Disiloxane

So, how did the Vacay box stand up to Unboxing Beauty’s standards?  Well, it met the criteria ~ a sunscreen, a soothing gel, some fun makeup in bright colors ~ but I had been expecting some makeup items that wouldn’t melt under the sun ~ such as waterproof makeup.   My favorite item is the One Solution, which by the description shouldn’t have been in this box, but I am glad to have it.  That plus the aloe vera gel saved this box for me, as I wasn’t too pleased to get another one of the Kissest Water Beam Tints.    This wasn’t an exciting box, but it’ll do…. I paid $30.00 for this box and received a *MemeValue of $56.00 ~ a bit disappointing and pretty low in value.

Did you get the Memebox Vacay Mystery Box?  What was your favorite item in the box?

  1. HI Andrea, sorry for the delay in responding ~ I have the flu right now, so I was a bit under the weather (still am a bit!) The Clear Ampoule worked well enough ~ it soothed any redness, didn’t really help with reducing swelling however. I liked using this product when I do facial sheet masks ~ I would apply it on my face first and then put my mask over it. It didn’t help with huge blemishes and I didn’t find it controlled oil that much. However, it smells really nice, and it worked fine with small blemishes, It did not dry out my skin, which was another plus!!

      1. Happy New Year, Andrea! Yes, I tried the LJH essence ~ and I know it worked for a lot of people, but it did nothing for me. I was very disappointed. But hopefully, it will work for you.

        1. Hi!
I´m sorry to hear that it did nothing for you…. Hopefully it will be good for my skin. At least I´ve got it on a sale for a fraction of the original price, which is horrendously high!
Anyway, I really like your blog! And admire your dedication for testing out all these products! 🙂
How does your testing schedule looks like?
