Unboxing SudsyBox April 2015

I am always eager to get my Sudsy Box, full of handcrafted soaps, every other month.  In February, there were some rose scented items (damn Valentines Day) but there was also a great orange/coffee and peppermint soap, so I couldn’t complain too much!  However, I am really eager to see what their Spring Edition reveals!

What is Sudsy Box?

Sudsy Box is a bi-monthly subscription at $20.00 every other month that Sudsy & Co’s business offers.

From SudsyBox’s website:

You will get your Sudsy Box every other month. We deliver 6 times a year and schedule our deliveries to arrive before most of the major holiday seasons. Each Sudsy Box shipment is themed for that particular season. The cutoff to sign up for a box is the 15th of the month that Sudsy Box ships and we typically ship the 15th – 20th of that month.

  1. FEBRUARY – Just in time for your favorite Valentine! It could be a significant other or maybe you want to pamper yourself on this special day.
  2. APRIL – Who doesn’t love Spring and Easter! Get fresh scented soaps and something special because you survived the long, cold winter.
  3. JUNE – Ahhhh. The start of summer. Feel the warm breeze and the summer sun with some of our fun and unique soaps.
  4. AUGUST – The wrap up of summer vacations. Getting ready to go back to school. A great time to stock up on the necessities with a Sudsy Box!
  5. OCTOBER – Fall is our favorite season at Sudsy Box and you won’t be disappointed with some of the great smells and looks of our fall collection.
  6. DECEMBER – Christmas and family traditions! Peppermint candy canes, pine trees, crackling fireplaces and hot chocolate! Need we say more??

Each delivery of Sudsy Box will have 3 full sized soap bars (these are 4 ounces, not some wimpy hotel sized sliver!)  and one sample of a lip balm, lotion bar, sea salt scrub, body butter, etc. The soaps will vary each time and will be themed to the season of the shipment. The samples will vary each box and we will try to highlight each one of Sudsy & Co’s product lines throughout the year.

The soaps that are in Sudsy Box are handcrafted in small batches. (Each batch makes only 18 bars of soap) This small batch artisan approach is created with the highest quality, all natural ingredients that produce a luxurious, moisturizing bar of soap and leaves your skin feeling soft, silky and hydrated. These soaps are naturally rich in Shea and Coca butters, Olive Oil and Coconut oil and have the added benefit of essential oils like Lavender, Rosemary, Peppermint, Orange, Lemongrass and more!  Our soaps are always 100% NATURAL… Gluten Free – Vegetarian

My April Box Revealed!

Informational Card

I’ve given up and now open my soaps that I know I will use!  haha.  I just wrap them back up after I take the photo until they go into my shower.

Tropical Delight Soap Bar  ohhhh, this is a pretty bar of soap and the scent is very subtle but I can smell the bright grapefruit and orange ~ a lovely duo and my favorite types of scents!   A creamy off-white bar of soap that  has a top ridge that has dried, crushed orange peels ~ I want to display this soap, not use it!  Value $6.00

Description: This sunny tropical bar is sure to brighten everyone’s day! This bar is infused with Grapefruit essential oil, and the bar is topped off with crushed orange peels. This is an awesome bar to help start your day and brighten your mood both morning and evening.  Tropical Delight will definitely put you in a spring time mood!

Ingredients: Saponified [Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil],  Grapefruit Essential Oil, Crushed Orange Peels

Lemon Delight Soap Bar   Another citrusy bar of soap! I love citrus scents and although this does not have lemon in it, it has lemongrass,  which isn’t a citrus, but mimics the delicate lemony scent of real lemons.   This has French green clay which also helps with detox and deep cleansing of your body.   This soap really has a great lemon scent to it and is a pale yellow with creamy swirls of green.  Value $6.00

Description: This fresh lemony smell is to die for.  A great eye opener shower or bath bar for those early morning wake ups. I know you will absolutely love this scent.

Ingredients: Saponified [Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil], Lemongrass Essential Oil, French Green Clay, Rosemary Extract

Eucalyptus Lavender Silk Bar   This is a beautiful bar of soap ~ I don’t want to use it.  It is made with silk and it has clay in this soap to help detox.  I love the blending of the lavender and eucalyptus oils in this soap ~ it is both refreshing and soothing with the light, but sharp menthol scent merged with the delicate floral notes.   This is a lovely lavender colored swirled soap. Value $6.00

Description: This bar is truly unique! How many of you can say you have used an all natural bar of soap infused with silk? This bar is one of the most creamy, and moisturizing bars in the Sudsy & Co. line. Another great ingredient is Purple Brazilian Clay which helps improve circulation, cleanses, detoxifies, and minimizes pores, without drying the skin. It is scented with Eucalyptus and Lavender Essential Oils, a combination that is uplifting and also calming at the same time! You will not believe the feel of this bar as you use it on your skin!

Ingredients: Saponified [Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Castor Oil], Eucalyptus & Lavender Essential Oil Blend, Tussah Silk

Citrus Shea Balm Sampler  This balm is to be used on your body, not your lips, it sounds like.  I cannot really smell any citrus scent, as the shea butter is very overpowering.  That said, it really does melt into your skin and is very hydrating.  Perfect for sunburns, rashes and wind-burn.   1 oz Value $3.00

Description: Shea butter has been used for centuries as a healing butter in West Africa. It was used to treat rheumatism, burns, abrasions, aches, pains and the list goes on. We have sourced our Shea Butter from Ghana and kept it in its unrefined state. Use it on your hands, feet, elbows, knees and toes! Or anywhere in between… We have developed a unique formula of Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil that feels luxurious and silky on your skin. You will be delighted at how these balms melt into your skin and they won’t leave a greasy, sticky feeling after.

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Beeswax, Orange & Lemongrass Essential Oil, Rosemary Extract.

Every item in this box I will use!  I am so happy that with the citrus scented products and I do love lavender soap as well.   The balm is a great handy size to place in my purse, as I always need some type of moisturizing on my hands and arms!  One thing I do wish that SudsyBox would modify is their scents ~ I would like my citrus, peppermint and other soaps to be a bit more stronger in scent.   There are some scents, like floral, that are best as a delicate light scent, but if you have a mint or citrus scent, it should be strong, bright and fresh!    I paid $20.00 for my subscription and received a value of $21.00 for unique, handcrafted bath items.    They only use natural oils, butters and botanicals and do not use phthalates, sulfates, artificial colors or fragrances.

Do you subscribe to Sudsy Box?  What was your favorite scent this month?  I cannot pick this month!  I love them all 🙂  Let me know in the comments below 🙂

  1. I’ve been receiving this sub for months and this is the first time reading about upcoming themes. I’ll be trying out the Eucalyptus Lavender Silk soap tomorrow.
