Unboxing Memebox Global #19..err January Box

Well, this is the last Global box that Memebox is offering.   They even changed the same to “January” instead of “Global #19” Box.  Sigh.  And this box didn’t end the Global era with a bang, but more like a whimper.

I have a whole section in my blog,  devoted to Memebox, so if you want to know more, check out the Memebox category.

Global #19 (January)

January Box AKA Memebox Global #19 will surely not disappoint! It’s got everything from essential skincare, to skin perfecting miracles, and beauty-boosting body products to help start your new year off right! Grab this box to learn a few new beauty lessons or two! 🙂

Informational Card

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

The Choute Aurora Pearl Base I don’t really use highlighters that much and I certainly do not use it mixed in my foundation.   I actually like my Dearberry Choux that I received in an earlier Memebox, as that was a color corrector, but this one is a white with pink iridescence and there is no way I can pull this off, even if I wanted to ~ it is really sparkly.  My skin is already “dewy”, and since I am warmed toned, pink based highlighters really don’t look well on me.  I have never found the claims that these products “defuse” and “soften” wrinkles and fine lines; in fact, I think they only draw greater attention to them.  This highlighter has peppermint extracts, lemon balm and Vitamin E.   The Choute is actually part of Witch’s Pouch, which I have loved the lipsticks that I have received from this company. Full Size 30 mL Value $18.00

A dot, applied lightly, rubbed in completely so it is basically worthless.  I have to choose between glitter fest or why bother?

Secret Nature Moringa Seed Toner  This is the product in this Global that makes this box for me.    This is a toner, made from Moringa seed extract.  What is Moringa seed extract?

Moringa seed oil is beneficial for the skin. The hydrating and detoxifying effects of moringa extracts help in neutralizing the effects of harmful pollutants, prevents wrinkles, and slows premature aging. The high protein content of moringa aids in protecting the dermal cells from damage caused by heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium. For the same reason, it is used in the production of cosmetics and skin care products.  (source)

This also contains fermented Lotus seed water, lemon balm, hibiscus and arginine extract.   Full Size 130 mL Value $31.00

Product Description:   This gentle toner clarifies and hydrates the skin with Moringa seed extract, hibiscus flower extract, fermented lotus flower and purified water to immediately soothe irritated skin, hydrate and lock in moisture in cells and remove makeup residue after cleansing.  Powerfully natural ingredients in the formula revitalizes stressed skin and preps the skin for the next step in skincare.  This toner moisturizes your skin with Moringa seed extract, fermented lotus seed water.  It controls skin balance and reenforces skin homeostasis (pH level) and moisturizing barrier, keeping the skin moist and lively

Ingredients: purified water, glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 copolymer, PEG 32, butylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, PEG-60  hydrogenated castor oil, chlorphenesin, carbomer, arginine, disodium EDTA, portulaca oleracea extract, moringa pterygosperma seed extract(30ppm), Lacltobacillus/nelumbo nucifera (lotus) seed ferment filtrate, hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, melissa officinalis (lemon balm) leaf extract, rosa canina (rosehip) fruit extract, fragrance cosDNA.com analysis

PurePlus+ Acai Berry Magic Bubble Cleansing Foam  It’s a cleanser.  Made from acai berries whose fruity acids leave skin supple and clean.  Rich in antioxidants, this is supposed to be a mild cleanser and it has a fruit scent.  Again, it’s a cleanser.  Full Size 80 g Value $12.00

Mimi Lauryne’s Beauty Lesson Hand Cream randomly selected from Rosee Fleur, Aromatic Citrus, Exotique.  I received the Aromatic Citrus, which I was really happy to get ~ I love a good citrus scented hand cream.  Tarocco is blood orange, but I have to say, this doesn’t smell at all like oranges.  It is scented with ylang ylang and that is what it smells like.  It also has rose extracts, but I do not smell rose.  I am disappointed over the scent, but it is a hand cream.  It will get used.   Full Size 50 mL Value $17.00

Product Description: Aromatic citrus extra hand cream ~ deeply moisturizing, rapidly absorbed creme effectively softens and hydrates hand and cuticles.  This treatment comforts on contact and forms a protective barrier to prevent dehydration.  Formulated with extra repair ingredients, Shea Butter, ylang ylang oil, french rose extracts, helps hands look and feel softer, smoother and healthier.  Macadamia oil’s INCI name is macadamia ternifolia seed oil:  contains approximately 60% oleic acid, 19% palmitoleic acid, 1-3% linolenic acid.  Some varieties contain roughly equal omega-6 and omega-3.  It has more oleic acid (a good fatty acid) than Olive Oil.

Esthetic House Vitamin 3000 Vitamin C Vita-Capsule Cream  Okay, when I read the name of this product, I was reminded of that classic “I Love Lucy” episode with the Vitameatavegamin commercial

get a great big bottle of Vitameatavegamin tomorrow that’s vita-meata-vegamin.

So, this is a Vitamin C cream that will brighten your skin tone and help reduce the apprerance of your pores, fade hyper-pigmentation.  This uses pure Vitamin C ingredients and you can either layer this cream with your current skin care routine, use as a spot treatment or mix it in with your moisturizer.   Since I have hyper-pigmentation from sun damage, I will use this as a spot treatment.  Full Size 30 mL Value $24.00

Product Description: Vitamin Capsules C : Lightning (Niacinamide)

  • Vitamin C Refining Cream
  • Clear skin + Antioxidant Care
  • Brightening effect
  • Inhibition of melanin
  • Moisture

Syndrome Cosmetic Pouch Sample ~ CB Revitalizing Fermentation Essence Okay, this is just plain sad.  2 foils of essence isn’t going to help me determine if this will work on my skin.  I don’t know why I am bothering to tell you about it, as Memebox couldn’t be bothered to give me a decent sample ~ but I am not Memebox 😛  I love fermented products and would have enjoyed a deluxe sample of this stuff.   However, 2 foils isn’t going to make me want to purchase something that is retail valued at $58.00   2 foils @ 1 g each Value $1.16

Product Description:  This revitalizing fermentation essence is a must-have staple for maintaining healthy skin.  It is formulated with anti-aging bifida and skin-repairing galactomyces to help maintain the skin’s natural renewal cycle to its optimum condition to allow skin nourishment.  It also works to to balance the skin, so combination skin will never bother you again.

Syndrome Cosmetic Pouch Sample: CB Cream Gold    yeah, Memebox didn’t give a rip ~ Two more foils.  This is a whitening cream.  I have no other information on this product.  2 foils @ 1 g Value $3.14

Product Description: This miraculous facial cream visibly brightens the skin tone instantaneously! It whitens and brightens the face so that you can look fresh faced and dazzling anytime.  No need to wash off the product from your skin because it also acts as a moisturizer to lock in moisture all throughout the day while also providing anti-wrinkling effects.

Seriously, the foils are FREE on the CB site and you get 15 each.   This was really sad that we only got 2 each.  I am pretty happy with the Secret Nature toner and the Vitameatavegamin Vitamin C cream, but outside of that, this is a sad little toot on the horn to send off the last Global box.   Sigh ~ Global Boxes are what made Memebox.

I paid $23.00 (shipping was already bundled) and received a  MemeValue ** of $106.20.  ** What is MemeValue?  It is my term to describe the value that Memebox puts on the products, which can be very over inflated.  You can usually find these products at a lesser cost, so I do suggest researching first if you wish to purchase them.

  1. I got the box, but my toner broke during shipping, unfortunately. When I messaged Memebox to ask if they could replace the toner they replied that they were giving me an $8 credit. I’ve stopped buying the boxes for a while because I have such a huge stash, so I don’t think I’ll be using that credit since all I really need is a toner and it won’t fully cover even one of those. I’d rather run out to Face Shop or Skinfood to buy one locally.
