Unboxing SudsyBox February 2015

I joined Sudsy box last December because I love to use unique, handcrafted soaps ~ but since I rarely purchase them, I just hoard my pretties in instead of using them.  I found Sudsy Box and decided to subscribe to it.

What is Sudsy Box?

Sudsy Box is a bi-monthly subscription at $20.00 every other month that Sudsy & Co’s business offers.

From SudsyBox’s website:

You will get your Sudsy Box every other month. We deliver 6 times a year and schedule our deliveries to arrive before most of the major holiday seasons. Each Sudsy Box shipment is themed for that particular season. The cutoff to sign up for a box is the 15th of the month that Sudsy Box ships and we typically ship the 15th – 20th of that month.

  1. FEBRUARY – Just in time for your favorite Valentine! It could be a significant other or maybe you want to pamper yourself on this special day.
  2. APRIL – Who doesn’t love Spring and Easter! Get fresh scented soaps and something special because you survived the long, cold winter.
  3. JUNE – Ahhhh. The start of summer. Feel the warm breeze and the summer sun with some of our fun and unique soaps.
  4. AUGUST – The wrap up of summer vacations. Getting ready to go back to school. A great time to stock up on the necessities with a Sudsy Box!
  5. OCTOBER – Fall is our favorite season at Sudsy Box and you won’t be disappointed with some of the great smells and looks of our fall collection.
  6. DECEMBER – Christmas and family traditions! Peppermint candy canes, pine trees, crackling fireplaces and hot chocolate! Need we say more??

Each delivery of Sudsy Box will have 3 full sized soap bars (these are 4 ounces, not some wimpy hotel sized sliver!)  and one sample of a lip balm, lotion bar, sea salt scrub, body butter, etc. The soaps will vary each time and will be themed to the season of the shipment. The samples will vary each box and we will try to highlight each one of Sudsy & Co’s product lines throughout the year.

The soaps that are in Sudsy Box are handcrafted in small batches. (Each batch makes only 18 bars of soap) This small batch artisan approach is created with the highest quality, all natural ingredients that produce a luxurious, moisturizing bar of soap and leaves your skin feeling soft, silky and hydrated. These soaps are naturally rich in Shea and Coca butters, Olive Oil and Coconut oil and have the added benefit of essential oils like Lavender, Rosemary, Peppermint, Orange, Lemongrass and more!  Our soaps are always 100% NATURAL… Gluten Free – Vegetarian

My February Box Revealed!

Informational Card

This time around, I did open up two of the soaps as the scents really intrigued me.   I normally do not, as I like to open my soaps right when I need to use them, but I couldn’t resist.

Orange Mocha Espresso OMG This smells like those Chocolate Oranges, which I love.  I want to eat this bar of soap! ahaha  It is smooth, creamy beige color with flecks of coffee beans in it, which will act as an exfoliator.  I cannot wait to use this one!   Full Size 4 oz Value $6.00

Product Description: Get clean with a soap that smells like cocoa and oranges! Combined with coffee as an exfoliant, what an awesome way to start your day!  Even though this bar is an exfoliant, it is one of my most moisturizing bars I have.  My skin feels silky after using it.

Ingredients: Saponified (olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil), orange essential oil, rosemary extract, coffee grounds

Woodland Mint This soap is almost to pretty to use ~ a creamy swirl of olives, browns and forest green colors, with the enticing scent of fresh mint.  This soap is full of antioxidants ~ cocoa and chlorella ~ which help your skin and fight back damage from free radicals.    This is an brand new scent for Sudsy & Co.    Full Size 4 oz Value $6.00

Product Description: Woodland Mint is not your regular bar of soap.  This bar infuses your skin with antioxidants from the Cocoa. Chlorella is also used and it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.  Chlorella is also known to be a powerful skin healing agent. The creamy, moisturizing cocoa butter we use is another luxury your skin will love. As you use this luxurious soap,  you will see the cocoa and chlorella seep out from the bar, coating your skin with its many beneficial properties.  If taking a bath, this bar infuses the bath water by flooding it with this wonderful, moisturizing,  skin cocktail. It has a very light, uplifting mint scent that you will look forward to every day.

Ingredients: Saponified (olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil), rose essential oil, rosemary extract, rose kaolin clay, rose petals

Wild Rose  As I am allergic to rose, I will not be opening this soap up to view it.  I will be gifting it, as I know that rose is a popular scent, but just not for me!  I did look on the website to see what it looks like, and it is a pretty pink soap with dried rose petals on one of the edges.  Very nice looking!  This soap is make with kaolin clay and shea butter, and really helps those with dry, inflamed or itching skin.  Another brand new scent, not yet available on Sudsy & Co.    Full Size 4 oz Value $7.50

Product Description: Roses are the source of an exquisite oil that has a delicate, uplifting fragrance with a healing and rejuvenating effect on the skin.  Rose oil also has an anti-inflammatory, soothing, cooling effect on the skin. Combine this with Rose Kaolin Clay that absorbs impurities and also removes toxins from the skin and you have pure luxury.  Large amounts of shea butter make this soap extremely luxurious and will leave your skin feeling silky smooth. This bar is  luxurious and attractive; an added luxury to every shower or bath

Ingredients: Saponified (olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil), orange essential oil, rosemary extract, coffee grounds

Pamper Me Bath Tea  I have heard of “bath teas” before and the concept is to have a lovely potpourri of luxurious ingredients and place it in a little bag, then add that bag into your bath, allowing all of the essential oils and aromatic herbs and flowers to be released into your bath water.  Alas, this one is with dried rose petals, so I cannot use it.  It also has dead sea salts, oatmeal and lavender buds.  If Sudsy & Co make these without rose, I will be interested in purchasing one!   Full Size  1 use Value $3.00

Product Description: Simply drop this lovely bag of goodness into a hot bath. The bouquet of lavender buds, rose petals, oatmeal and dead sea salt seeps into your skin and gives you luxury spa experience in your own home. Perfect for a quiet spa time or for that romantic bath.

Ingredients:  Dead Sea Salt, Oatmeal, Rose Buds, Lavender Buds, Lavender Essential Oil

Even though I cannot use 2 of the 4 items in this box, I found this month’s offerings to be excellent.  My allergies aside, the obvious care in not only selecting fine ingredients, but also the presentation impresses me.   I know many people who love artisan crafted bath soaps and bath goodies, so the two rose items will be gifted and I am happy to introduce these fine products to them.      I paid $20.00 for my subscription and received a value of $22.50 for unique, handcrafted bath items.    They only use natural oils, butters and botanicals and do not use phthalates, sulfates, artificial colors or fragrances.

Do you subscribe to Sudsy Box?  What was your favorite scent this month?  I love both the Woodland Mint and Orange Mocha Espresso.    Let me know in the comments below🙂
