Memebox Shara Shara Skincare Season 2 Unboxing

I decided to purchase the Shara Shara Skincare Season 2 value set a few weeks ago as I kept coming back to look at the Fresh Apple Martini Ampoule!  It is pretty looking :)   I am not a fan of Shara Shara makeup, but their skincare line has been a good value for me ~ I view it as being similar to Secret Key, which I love.

Shara Shara Skincare Season 2 Value Set

Hinoki Spa Lotion  Can I first say how cute the box design is?  That little dude in the front happens to be the famous Japanese macaque (snow monkey) who love to sit in the heated mineral waters.

This lotion is reported to reduce hyper-pigmentation and improve skin tone and contains phytoncide,  extracted from Hinoki Cypress, and is supposed to refresh and vitalize your skin by promoting skin cell turnover at a faster rate.  This also contains witch hazel, soybean extract, oat extract and chlorella to help balance the oil-moisture levels in your skin.  As lotions are more lightweight than creams, I am saving this for the warmer months, so I will not be opening this up to swatch.   Full Size 140 mL  Retail Value: $20.80

Description: This lightweight lotion boosts radiance, minimizes dark spots and delivers intense hydration to dehydrated skin to promote a dewy, radiant look.  Hinoki Cypress and bamboo extracts sink deep into the pores to deliver cosmic does of essential nutrients and moisture to give skin a smooth, healthy appearance.  The results?  You’ll look like you just stepped out of a luxurious oriental spa with skin that glows as radiantly as a goddess.

Fresh Apple Martini Ampoule  This was the product I was most keenly interested in ~ it contains fruit extracts of all kinds:  kiwi, lemon, apple, lime, melon, mango, acerola, acai, pineapple, guava and cranberry ~ for a highly concentrated ampoule of antioxidants, vitamins  and also gentle exfoliation with the pineapple extract.  This has sea water as well as lemongrass and vitamin E.  When this is resting, you can see the 3 layers in the ampoule ~ water, oil and fluorine ~ the flourine ingredients are interesting.  Perfluorodecalin is reported to help revive skin and also reduce wrinkles, without being greasy and clogging pores.  There are also claims that it injects pure oxygen into the skin to speed up cellular function.   Flourines are also reported to be a non-irritant and safe for sensitive skin types to use.   PCF’s (perfluorocarbons) do have a greenhouse effect that lasts over 50 years, but that does not pertain to its use in skincare and medical applications.

Okay, how does it smell, feel and apply on the skin?  When I first opened this up, I had initially shaken the bottle and then removed the safely seal.  Do not do what I did.  Remove the safely seal first and then shake the bottle.  Why?  Because the ampoule spurted out some of its contents!  haha.  It does smell like granny smith apples and initially, it applies with a very oily film.  However, as I massaged it into my skin, the oil disappeared and my skin felt hydrated without any greasy residue.   This is a pore care ampoule, so I will be using it around my nose and chin to see if it helps with tightening my pores.  Full Size 35 mL  Retail Value $22.60

Description: Get it: your ideal skin.  This fast-acting 3 layer serum is the all-in-one pore care solution as it resurfaces skin for an incredibly clear, even-toned, luminous complexion.  It clarifies, refines, controls sebum production and snaps pores back into shape. The fun formula is divided into 3 layers: carbonated layer to revitalize the pores, water-based layer to deliver hydration to pores and oil layer to lock in moisture.  So shake it, and smooth it on and instantly enjoy that soft, seamless, silky feeling you love.

Pure Source Ocean Mist  This mist has several seaweed extracts ~ sea grape, kelp extract, hizikia fusiforme ~ and shea butter to help keep your skin moisturized.  It does not contain parabens, mineral oil, sulfates or triethanolamine.  I find that I am using my hydrating mists in the winter quite a bit.  We’ve been getting a lot of snow recently and between the winds, the bitter cold and then coming into a dry, heated environment, my skin does need to be hydrated often!   I find that using these mists before I go outside for an extended period of time, when I come back inside and also before bed, as the first step after cleansing.   This does have alcohol in it, so I would follow up with a moisturizer as well.   You hold this 10 to 12 inches from your face and spray.  I don’t really smell much with this spray, but then again, I am currently sick with a cold, so unless it is really potent, like the cream and ampoule, I am not picking up a lot of subtle scents.  This packaging is so retro looking ~  throw-back to the 1970’s and kinda dirty looking too (yes, I have a filthy mind ~ haha) Full Size 70 mL  Retail Value $4.43

Description: Bursting with moisture and collagen, this must-have facial mist softens, soothes and replenishes lost moisture to dry skin while restoring skin’s balance.  The perfect size to use on the go for showers of hydration, this spray rapidly refreshes and rejuvenates the skin

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, SD Alcohol 40-B, glycerin, Sodium hyaluronate, Caulerpa Lentillifera (sea grape) Extract, Sea Water / Maris Aqua, Hizikia Fusiforme Extract, Laminaria Japonica (kelp) Extract, Gelidium Sesquipedale (Agar) Extract, Lactobacillus/Astragalus Membranaceus Root Extract Ferment Filtrate, Hexyldecyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Collagen, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Triisostearate, trehalose,  Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, fragrance analysis

Gold Label Repescargo Hydrogel Mask   I received the cream in one of my Memeboxes earlier and gave it away because I wasn’t going to use it up in time ~ it had an expiration date that I knew I wasn’t going to get to, with all of the creams I currently have.  I am glad that I received the mask in the Repescargo line (ahahaha ~ play on words ~ repair ~ escargot = repescargo) as I did want to try at least one product in this line myself.  This mask is a two-piece hydrogel, not my favorite type of mask and not only contains the snail slime (1000 mg) , but gold extract .025ppm (woot, woot).  This is a whitening and wrinkle repair mask.  Full Size 35 g Retail Value $5.00

Description: This super-hydrating hydrogel mask repairs, restores, and adds bounce to skin.  Its unique hydrogel material allows for powerful ingredients to penetrate deep down into the skin and locks in moisture.  Snail mucin, gold and other natural extracts delivers cosmic doses of energy to dry, rough or dehydrated skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and signs of aging

Shara Shara does have some cute packaging, that is for sure!  I loved the design on the Hinoki Spa Lotion (I just love those snow monkeys!), the ampoule is cute and the snail mask is very funky with the swirls of green to mimic the swirls in a snail’s shell ~ plus I love the play on words.  This value set was $38.00 including shipping and has a MemeValue of $88.00.     I happen to like Shara Shara skincare products, so I am pretty happy with this box. It is decently curated, the expiration dates are at least 1 1/2 years in the future and I think this was a good value.    It is still on sale (click here to purchase) at the International Shop, but you will have to hurry if you want this set ~ Memebox International Shop and shipping is over by the end of 2/10/2015.    Any orders made prior to the end of the day will be shipped out, but after 2/10/2015,  you won’t be able to place any international orders.

  2. I thought the Elizavecca Skincare Set Season 2 would be the last Memebox set I’d buy, however after your fabulous post I might just buy this for my birthday!

  3. This is a great set!! I go back and forth on my feelings about Shara Shara, but i just think Memebox hasn’t really featured some of their more interesting products in the regular boxes. This stuff looks great and some of it is quite different from what I already have in my massive hoard of stuff lol😉

    1. I totally agree! I think they killed us with the makeup items – haha. I am tempted to get another one of these, as I really like the products and a couple of them, I might want to put in a future giveaway🙂

  4. I have to say, I haven’t had much luck with Shara Shara makeup before but this skincare looks really good. Particularly the moisturiser and the facial spray. Hmm. Maybe my opinions need changing!

  5. I may have to get one of those Hinoki Spa Lotions for the summer. I think we have similar skin types so hopefully it will be suitable. Most of the creams that I am using now will be much too heavy, even though the British summer is a generally a bit too short!
