I recently received pureSOL Konjac Sponge in return for my honest review from Tomoson.  I happen to be a big fan of Konjac facial sponges and purchase them all the time.   I replace my Konjac facial sponges every 2 months, as I do use mine daily.

How to Use

  • When you receive the sponge it will be hard and dry like a loofah. You first need to soak the sponge for several minutes until it is fully soft. Please never try to use your sponge when it is hard.
  • Gently massage your face with or without your favorite cleanser. Should you choose to use a cleanser, apply only a fraction of your usual amount, as the sponge will generate more bubbles!
  • After use, rinse your Konjac Sponge and press it gently with two hands. Never wring the sponge as it will damage the fibers and won’t last as long!
  • Hang your pureSOL Konjac Sponge on the enclosed hook in a well-ventilated space. We recommend to replace your Konjac Sponge every 2-3 months or when it starts to break down. Your sponge may dry out between uses, it’s ok! All you need to do is soak the sponge again!

Tips & Tricks

  • If you live in a hot and humid climate we recommend storing your Konjac Sponge in the refrigerator in sealed container to extend the life. Please remember Konjac is a vegetable fiber and the sponge is completely natural with no preservatives or chemicals
  • You can sterilize you sponge every few weeks by boiling it in water or putting it in a bowl of water in the microwave for a minute.
  • Your Konjac Sponge is biodegradable and can be composted after use! You can always feel good about using your pureSOL Konjac Sponge!

Konjac sponges look small, hard and not at all something you would want to cleanse your face with.   But once you get this sponge good and wet, it will expand 2-3 times its size and become super soft, spongy and it will have a gelatinous feel to it.   Konjac is highly fibrous, which is why is it an excellent material for exfoliation.   pureSol’s Konjac sponge is made from the Konjac root plant by steaming the edible fiber and is natural, eco-friendly, biodegradable and chemical free.

What I really thought was unique with this sponge is that is that pureSol also provided me with a little hook to hang my sponge on.   The hook is attached to a suction cup which I moistened and just stuck to my shower wall.  My sponge has its own place to hang out (haha) while it is not in use!

With pureSol’s sponge, you can use with or without cleanser ~ I like to use cleanser, as my face is oily and I need the extra cleansing.   You don’t need a lot of cleanser, just a little, because pureSol’s sponge will bubble up quickly.  It gently cleanses my face while the konjac fibers exfoliate my skin, removing dirt and debris, while unclogging my pores.

Once you are finished cleansing your face, rinse out well and just hang to air dry. DO NOT wring it out, as that will destroy the fibers in the sponge.  Just rinse and gently squeeze the excess water from your sponge.    If you live in a very humid area, they recommend to storing your sponge in the refrigerator.    I use mine every day and you should replace your cleansing sponges every 2 to 3 months.

Anyone can use a pureSol Konjac sponge ~ it is gentle enough for babies, those with sensitive skin and for those with very thin, delicate skin.   I have some konjac sponges that I use to help wash my cat’s legs as he suffers from skin irritation and it helps gently cleanse his legs without soap.

Konjac sponges are excellent for detoxifying and deep cleansing while hydrating the skin, while balancing pH levels, bringing facial skin back to a soft, natural glow.   pureSol’s Konjac sponge will massage your skin to promote skin cell growth and it is 100% free of chemicals, parabens, sulphates and phthalates and is 100% biodegradable and naturally sustainable.

You can purchase pureSol Konjac Sponge at amazon.com for $10.00 with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, which is a pretty decent deal.    I have used boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponges and they retail for $15.00, and I do think that they are comparable.

What is Konjac?

The konjac root has been a part of Japanese beauty rituals for over 1,500 years. In fact, the first known use of the konjac root traces back to Japan. Because of the unique, unblemished environment, the konjac root and bamboo charcoal ingredients sourced from Jeju Island are the purest in the world. The island itself has a sublime, temperate climate, and is home to dense, luxurious forests with over 1,800 species of flora. One of the least polluted environments on earth, the water of Jeju Island is known as the purest in the world, purified by filtering through the natural volcanic rock. This pristine water nourishes the soil, making it nutrient-rich and perfect for growing the highest quality ingredients that can only be found there.  from  http://www.sephora.com/konjac-cleansing-sponge-P382345?skuId=1544030

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I ended up with the same sponge, the circular one rather than the tear drop shaped one. It works great, and leaves my face feeling clean, refreshed and smooth! Is it really all natural, with no chemicals used in the production?
