Memebox Special #53 Wine & Cheese Review

The much anticipated box from Memebox ~ Special #53 Wine & Cheese!   This box was originally sold with a ship date of 11/7, which Memebox changed to 11/13 and then to 11/19, due to Innisfree not getting one of the products to them in time.  Then all hell broke loose on 11/20, when customers, like myself, who ordered the bundle did not receive it on the 20th, nor could find any tracking information on it.    Read on to find out why…..

Informational Card which should explain what I got and its value.

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

Therefore, only a small amount of Pinot Noir is yielded since it is known as the best quality of grapes for making the best quality red wines.   Blanc Doux is explicitly reflected in Pinot Noir Spray Serum and Pinot Noir UV Shield & Tone-Up Sensitive by specifically developing the wine extract from Pinot Noir wine produced in France.

No, not in the box….

Innisfree Wine Peeling Jelly Softener   I was one of the 300 unlucky customers out of 500 who did not received this product.  I guess Innisfree could not make good with their contract on this item with Memebox … grrrr …. My thoughts on this box.    It is a decent box, but since it was missing one wine product, it is heavy on the cheese 😀   Both of these facial creams will be night time creams for me and I think that is a mistake on Memebox’s part to include two very rich and heavy facial creams.   They should have had the Wine Therapy Sleep Mask by Holika Holika, as those are not so heavy and replace the LadyKin Mask with that.  We would still have a LadyKin MangChee product, but just in the form of a hand cream.   I’ve provided the information on the Holika Holika products here, so you can see that Memebox lost a great opportunity to provide a popular item in this box that could have been used by just anyone ~ They could have randomly selected from White or Red Wine

  • Red Wine: Anti wrinkle sleeping pack that makes your skin smooth and resilient with shape memory moisture membrane of red wine
  • White Wine:  Whitening sleeping pack that makes your skin moist and bright with water drop moisture membrane of white wine

A bit of a Rant Ahead….

I know that Memebox gave those customers who did not receive the Innisfree product 12 Memepoints, but the communication around what happened with this box was just awful.    Once Memebox realized that they didn’t have the Innisfree product, they should have contacted the customers ASAP.  Instead, there was a huge delay in communications and 200 boxes went out with the Innisfree product in them ~ and there was no logic about which boxes got shipped out first.  Memebox didn’t ship them out as first order in, first order out.  It was very random and I think that upset many Memebox customers who ordered this box within hours after its release and they didn’t get this product, but some customers who ordered it weeks later did get it.  Also, with express shipping, making their customers wait 12 days before shipping the box out, after they discovered the issue, is bad customer service.   There were customers who received their standard shipping order with the Innisfree even before the express shipped bundles without the Innisfree were even shipped out! To make matters worse,  the Innisfree branded box has been cancelled due to a supplier deciding to weasel out of their obligations with Memebox and the time-line.

Memebox really messed up with this box and how it was handled ~ which seems to have been a total communication breakdown between their US Headquarters and the Korean logistics department.     I am unsure what is going on with Memebox ~ the lack of new boxes, not only in the Global site, but at Memebox Korea as well.  There has been no communication with the customers or affiliates about what is going on and I hope they just had a brain fart for the month of November and will get back on track soon.

They need to put the BOX back into Memebox ~ that is what people  want ~ Facebook, instagram, chat boards ~ customers are upset by this change and will go elsewhere to purchase their items.   The store is fine, but you can get great deals elsewhere on individual items, such as beautynetkorea, testerkorea, honestskin ~ just to name a few.

Memebox claim to fame is their boxes.  They need to go back and curate them well and offer us a variety of boxes to choose from.   Most of the coupons I have below are useless to customers, as there are no boxes to choose from and who wants to make a $200.00 purchase at their shop?   And not to mention that the USA shop vs the Global shop takes an ugly turn when non-USA Global customers want to purchase the deals that the USA shop has but the Global does not.

I am very frustrated and confused by the direction Memebox is taking.   And since no one at Memebox will talk to us as adults, I don’t feel bad about posting this rant of mine.  I want Memebox to succeed as I really enjoy their boxes, but they do need to communicate better with us.

Rant Over

I paid $29.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $35.99.   I was credited 12 Memepoints because of the missing Innisfree product, so I paid $23.99 total and received a MemeValue ** of $130.00  even without the Innisfree product, $132.00 with the MemeMask.

Did you get the Memebox Special #53 Wine & Cheese?  What did you think of it and what is your favorite product?  I am really happy to try out the Blanc Doux Pinot Noir UV, which is a first for me ~ getting excited over SUNSCREEN!

  1. I think ure spot on with ur rant! It’s really frustrating that I have no idea what happened to their Memeboxes that I look forward to every week and instead they’re just pumping out more of their own brand products which is hey not why I fell in love with them! I feel like they’re trying so hard to become a beauty brand rather than a beauty box that one day they just went hey we have enough followers let’s just stop putting out boxes cuz they will buy our own products… erm no.

  2. Thank you for what you said to Memebox about the way we were treated about this box, the obvious fact that they could have added a Holika Holika wine sleeping pbak which is probably more useful to more people than ANOTHER peeling gel..

I really think Memebox has new managers or maybe vacancies where managers used to be. It’s like the inmates are running the Meme- asylum.

With that said and over, I really hope they read what you wrote. I also think your points about the box are bulls- eye accurate.
I don’t have my box yet, and it is entering the US through Anchorage, LOL, so who knows when I will get it or what condition the products will be in, but one day I will know what the Dear by Emprani Bounce Cheese cream is like.
It was the first product which caught my eye on Memebox’s website, long before I was brave enough to order my first box.

  3. Well said! I hope you have forwarded them this blog entry and I hope that they take note and listen to what we are all saying. I said something very similar in my last email to them (no answer unsurprisingly yet) and if they do respond I will send them the link to this too! x

  4. GUESS when I got my Wine and Cheese box? 12/17. Probably the last shipment on earth of this box.
However, I proclaim it worth the wait. I am ready for bedtime, wearing the Bounce Cream Cheese cream and my own Holika Holika white wine sleeping pack- which is luscious. 🙂
It was worth the wait… but I wasn’t happy with all the hijinks and lack of management with the box’s contents and shipping problems forever and a day.
