Memebox Special #67 Blackout! Unboxing

Back in October, Memebox released 3 boxes at once that were $19.00 apiece.  Two of them did sound like boxes I wanted and the third, well, it is basically for my nieces and gift giving.    These boxes are #65 Apple Mojito, #66 Petit Treasures and #67 Blackout!  I am going to be different and go in reverse order on my unboxing/reviews.  This review is for Memebox Special #67 Blackout!

Informational Card which should explain what I got and its value.

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

The glare is from the shrink wrap on the soap, not the soap itself!

B&Soap Black Block
I received this soap in a free preview review giveaway with Memebox and I plan on shaving the soap and putting it into  a bottle with water, to make a liquid soap.   If you wish to use the soap in a bar form, then you should slice off a piece of it and then use that smaller piece.  This is a huge bar of facial soap and it is all handmade as well.   The charcoal helps draw out impurities and clogged pores, and controls oil;  the rosemary helps cleanse and soothe skin while the olive oil helps moisturize.  This soap is specially formulated for oily and combination skin.    Full Size 85 gram Value $24.00 (but is on sale at Memebox!!)

Key Ingredients: charcoal, rosemary, olive oil.  Free from benzophenone, benzene-ethanol, triethanolamine, mineral oil

Honest Clinic Black Hole Spot  Well, trying to find any information on the interwebs is like being sucked into a black hole

I got nuthin’ on this product.   This is a night care acne spot treatment in gel form.  This will get used.  I wish I could find out more about this product, but googling for Honest Clinic just brings up a lot of botox clinics in Korea ;)   If anyone can translate the list of ingredients or let me know where I can find this item, I would love it if you posted that in the comments :)    Full Size 10 mL  Value $26.00

Product Description:  This night care gel contains a special A+BHA complex – the perfect balance of AHA and BHA components – formulated by Honest Clinic to gently melt away excessive dead skin cells and impurities from both inside the pores and the outer surface of the skin.  It effectively treats acne and blemish spots with just a single application while brightening up darkened, uneven skin tone at the same time.

How To Use:  Take a small amount of the formula and place it over troubled spot just before going to bed. Make sure it doesn’t go on non-problematic area of the skin as it could result in reddening.

Tosowoong Black Head Nose Pack  I received this item in Naked Box #23, and I still have a couple of strips left.  These actually work very well and are quite gentle, although a bit stinky.   8 each  Value $6.00

Product Description: Formulated with Moroccan lava clay, charcoal powder and volcanic ash, this blackhead removing nose pack is entirely made up of natural ingredients and the black color of the patches comes from actual charcoal powders.  It’s gentle on the skin yet effectively draws out stubborn blackheads from your nose

How To Use:  Cleanse and wet your nose with water.  Remove the film from the pack and place the smoother side of it over your nose.  Wait for 15 minutes until the pack is entirely dried.  Then peel it off from the edges, gently as it is pretty sticky and may stimulate the skin.

Key Ingredients:  Moroccan Lava Clay(Ghassool ),  Charcoal Powder, Volcanic Ash, Allantoin, Licorice Extract

Lioele L’Cret Hair Color Keeper Treatment Shampoo  I do color my hair and I like shampoo products, so I am pretty happy to get this. It doesn’t really have any strong scent that I can detect.   This shampoo is specifically formulated for color-treated hair and is made with sunflower seed oil, argan oil, babassu seed oil and silk proteins.   I do think Memebox transposed the numbers on the value.  However, I think it is lame to put this shampoo in the box just because the bottle is black.   At least the zit cream was called “Black Hole Spot”! Full Size 300 mL Value $42.00

Product Description: L’cret Hair Color Keeper Treatment including Sunflower Seed extracts is for color treated hair.  It supplies the nourishment to your damaged hair with Argan Oil and Babassu Seed Oil and makes your hair to be moist, while keeping the balance between oil and moisture with ProVitamins such as Pantenol and Silk Protein.

Ingredients: water, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, potassium cocoyl glycinate, cocamide MIPA, cocamide DEA, sodium chloride, butylene glycol, polyquaternium-7, polyquaternium-10, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed extract, argania spinosa kernel oil, orbignya oleifera seed oil, fragrance, panthenol, disodium EDTA, citric acid, sodium benzoate, hydrolyzed silk, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothianzoline, CI 15985

This box isn’t exciting by any means and I have used 2 of the products before.  Thankfully, they are good products, so having a repeat doesn’t bother me.  The spot treatment I can always use and I am very interested in  trying the shampoo out ~ which I will use up quickly anyway!!  That said, this box was missing something ~ A couple of facial sheet masks made from charcoal would have been really nice to have….BUT my fear of black eyeliner being included didn’t occur so I guess it evens out in the end!

I do understand why this box would not have pleased many people, as there was speculation that a steam or cool pore mask would be included and since we received original raw Blue Jam Water Block Cream in the Just Gellin’ box, that the Black Jam would be in here.  If you didn’t have color treated hair or oily skin, you pretty much didn’t like this box.    However, since I have both, I am happy with this box.  Do I wish there was another item in this box?  Yes, I do.

I purchased this box for  $19.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $25.99   The total  MemeValue of this box is of $98.00.     ** What is MemeValue?  It is my term to describe the value that Memebox puts on the products, which can be very over inflated.  You can usually find these products at a lesser cost, so I do suggest researching first if you wish to purchase them.

  1. Thanks for this tidy little review. You didn’t have much to work with. I was bummed out that this box suddenly sold out and I missed it …. now I am freakin relieved. It could have been SOOOO good!!😦 Four lame-ish products? …really? My word.

      1. I did read your post about petit treasures and I totally agree this is just as bad. My relationship with Memeboxes is definitely over, I’m still awaiting a couple of them preordered months ago. And I’ve got about $15 memepoints to spend but there’s nothing to buy ;(
