Memebox Superbox #71 My Cute Wishlist 4 Review

You might be asking yourself why I got the My Cute Wishlist 4 edition after the creepy doll-axe-murderers-with-constipation My Cute Wishlist 3 edition.   Well, first off, I hadn’t received #3 when I ordered #4 and I had bundled this with OMG 4 ~ which I purchased after Memebox promised that OMG 4 would BE OMG-Y.    I will be reviewing that box later.    So, yeah, to paraphrase P.T. Barnum, a sucker is born every minute.

Memebox  Superbox #71 My Cute Wishlist 4

We bring you, the latest edition of our Meme-fans’ most favorite series, My Cute Wishlist #4!  For endless days and nights, we scoured through the entire country searching for the cutest, most lovable beauty products in the world! We went through a deluge of beauty product wonders and carefully selected only the best to bring you a box packed with whimsical – and effective- beauty products that will once again make the My Cute Wishlist series a Memebox fan favorite! Loaded with some seriously adorable and hard-to-find beauty loot—straight from the hotbed of cute beauty products – this My Cute Wishlist #4 will make you ridiculously giddy with excitement! Who else does cute like we do?

Wellll, to answer that question ~ “Who else does cute like we do?” ~ No one.  Because this is no one’s idea of cute.  Not in any universe.    Giddy with excitement?  bwahahahaha ~ it is a cruel joke played by Memebox on their customers.    Considering that the Thanksgiving boxes, which were created and offered for sale AFTER this box was offered, had the really cute Tonymoly Bunny perfume sprayer, I think Memebox is just being mean here with the “cute” theme.

Informational Card which should explain what I got and its value.

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

TonyMoly Apple Red Tox Honey Cream    This is a great product.  I own this item already as I purchased it early this past summer.  I use it as a sleeping pack mask, as it is very thick and sticky. I have oily skin, so this doesn’t absorb completely into my skin, so that is why I use it for an overnight treatment.   Those with dry skin might be able to use this as a day cream ~ you will need to try this out and see how well it absorbs.  I do think the Apple Red Tox Honey Cream is suitable for all skin types and it does really smell like fresh apple juice!   It is an anti-bacterial, acne care, nourishing, moisturizing and anti-oxidant product.   The packaging is quite cute as it is a big bright red apple with a little green leaf :)   However…..I do know that the CutiePie 2nd edition box had this item in there, so some people might be upset that this is a repeat item so soon after that box was released.   Also, the other week, Memebox was having a BLOW OUT sale and people got this for $5.00…so, it could be that folks are a bit upset about this one.  However, I am not upset as  I  really like this product and am glad that I have another one as a back up.   This will get high marks as I am a foodie and I also love the scent!  Plus it has honey in it…  Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 10/10   Full Size 80  mL Value $12.00

Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick   randomly selected from 01 Seedless Strawberry Candy, 02 Oh! Orange Candy, 03 Sour Lemon Candy.   OMG ~ are you kidding me?  I actually received a product that is cute worthy for my teenage niece!!   Now, again, this item was in the first My Cute Wishlist box, which I didn’t get and it was amazing.   :)   I just hope she likes lemon!   This is made with bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon extracts and is a glossy lip gloss that will hydrate and moisturize your lips.  Based on other swatches and reviews, the lemon version is a peachy color, which is great for my young niece.   Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 10/10   Full Size 2 gram Value $5.00

Ingredients:  Bilberry, Sugar cane, Sugar maple, Orange, Lemon, and Xylitol

Yadah Vita-Whitening Aqua Gel + Puregreen Moisturizing Cream   The Aqua Gel comes in a 50 mL jar that retails for $22.00 and the cream is also the same size and price.  So, that means the value for both of them is $4.00.  Not $24.00  Sorry, I just was picking up my jaw off the ground when I saw the retail value on two 5 mL jars and I knew that wasn’t right.   These actually sound like really nice facial creams and I am sad that they are so small.   I hope Memebox puts the full size in upcoming boxes, as the Aqua Gel really sounds like a product I would use as a day cream and the Puregreen would be more of a night cream.  I used the Aqua Gel this morning and it absorbed quickly into my skin, not leaving it feeling tacky or greasy, and really works well with my oily skin.  I am interested in this gel as I think it might be competition for my beloved SN-T Goddess Cream. Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 0/10   Travel Size 5mL each (2x) Value $24.00  $4.00

ddung Liquid Eye Liner  in black  Oh boy, creepy dolly alert!!  ddung is a company that has a very popular doll line and alas, have made beauty and skincare items from this doll line, featuring creepy looking dollies.   I couldn’t find this product on the interwebs ~ I may use facial creams with impunity, but I do have problems putting a liquid eyeliner next to my eyes without knowing more about the product.    I do love liquid eyeliners and I will have to do some more research on this product.  Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score  0/10  Full Size 3 mL Value $12.00

Product Description: A liquid eyeliner with a formula that offers a remarkably defined, feminine eyes with a long-lasting, waterproof and non-smudging wear.

Holika Holika Pig-nose Clear Black Head Steam Starter  This is a sticky gel gel that you massage into your troubled areas where you have blackheads.   As you massage it in, it is supposed to heat up and  open up your pores, to help remove the dirt.    It does have a slight lemony scent to it.  I think this is a very useful product to help “steam clean” my pores.   Is it cute?   I don’t find a disembodied pig snout on a tube to be very cute looking.  But that is just me ~ However, the polka dots and the pink colored tube with blue is very nice looking, so it gets some props for that.  Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score  2/10  Full Size 30 mL Value $6.00

Product Description: This gel type starter helps to open your pores while reduces dirt from the pore.   Its pink clay ingredients helps absorb excess sebum and soften stubborn blackheads.

How To Use:   After cleansing, apply to the area with blackheads and massage for 3 minutes.  Then use lukewarm water to rinse off.

Ingredients: Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance(Parfum), Moroccan Lava Clay, Kaolin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Water, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack Milk  This is the 3rd repeat product in the box.  I did get this before in my Milk Box .  It is a lip mask.   It will be used.   Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 0/10  Full Size Value $1.00

Product Description:  Pamper your chapped lips with Pure Smile’s Choosy Lip Pack abundant in milk protein extracts for strengthening the moisture level and reviving the juicy glow of your lips.  This easy-to-apply lip patch will help maintain healthy, silky smooth lips!

How To Use:  Take out lip patch and place it on your lips.  Rest for 15-30 minutes, remove it and pat in the remaining essence

Pure Smile Snail Hand Cream Milk   I really loved this hand cream ~  I received a similar product in my first Honey Box ~ it was the Pure Smile Snail Hand Cream Honey.     That said, this is the 4th product in the box that is a repeat, as this item was in the Snail 2 Box ~ which I didn’t get.    This is a lightweight hand cream that is very moisturizing.   I also love the smell of these Snail series of hand creams from Pure Smile.   There are some things that Pure Smile does well, and this is one of them, imho.    Snail mucus extracts help with regeneration, smooths wrinkles, restores skin firmness.   Milk protein extracts help with the softening of the skin, stimulates cell production and helps with keeping moisture in the skin.  But…is it cute?   Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 0/10  Full Size 60 g Value $6.00

Product description:  This moisturizing hand cream is literally packed with nourishing natural ingredients such as snail mucus extracts, milk protein extracts, grape seed oil, olive oil, macadamia seed oil, shea butter, green tea extracts, aloe vera leaf extracts, and even collagen extracts! Plus, it has a very nice nutty, milky fragrance.

Tonymoly Egg Pore Nose Pack  The box beginneth and endth with Tonymoly.  These are nose strips that are made from charcoal = cleanse pores, camellia flower extracts = tighten pores and egg whites = to brighten skin.    I’ve been getting a lot of pore products lately in my boxes, which is fine, but I thought that Memebox had a Pore Care series ~ maybe they’ve discontinued it?   These will be used, but there is no cute factor here…..Unboxing Beauty’s Cuteness Score 0/10  Full Size 7 strips Value $4.00

Product Description: This blackhead removing Egg Pore Nose Pack is made from charcoal and egg complex which effectively treats enlarged pores and excessive blackheads and whiteheads, smoothing out uneven skin texture to resemble the rounded smooth surface of an egg.

How To Use:  Remove transparent film and place the smooth side of the pack over wet nose.  When the pack is completely dried out after 10-15 minutes, remove it from the edges.  Recommended to be used 1-2 times weekly and not consecutively.

I am feeling the same way about this box as I did with My Dessert box.  This is NOT a bad box;  In fact, this box has several very good items in it, such as the Yadah products-that-should-have-been-full-size, Tonymoly, Pure Smile, Etude and Holika Holika….. BUT….. this is not a My Cute Wishlist Box.  It does not make me giddy with excitement and I think whoever curated this box…needs a good talking to at Memebox.    Outside of the first two items, which are repeats, the rest of the box is not cute.    Also, half of the box was repeats from other boxes, which is a shame, because the Korean beauty industry has many inexpensive Kawaii items.    I am not as upset over this box because there are good products in here that I will use or can gift, but I totally understand why others are very unhappy about this box ~ because it isn’t cute and the repeat product factor.

I paid $23.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $29.99 ~ I am sure I had Memepoints and this box was much less ~ and received a MemeValue ** of $49.00.   I adjusted it on the Yadah items, as those were not worth $24.00, but $4.00.   Even with the incorrect cost, this box would have topped out at $69.00.  This is a very low value box, but it does have products that I will use and enjoy.   I still have one more cutesy box coming, Petite Treasures and no mas for me and Memebox’s idea of “cute”.  I will not be purchasing one again, as they took a solid gold concept that would have been a fantastic series and just squandered it.  It isn’t as if they didn’t have cute things in their warehouse ~ as I wrote earlier, one of the Thanksgiving boxes had the Tonymoly Bunny Spray in it.

  1. I am stopping myself for this Cute Wishlist after the 3rd box (with their dolly theme), and I don’t see any cute product here as well. They should stop this theme or seriously do something with their ‘cute’ list ^^!

    1. I would have cancelled this in a heartbeat, except it was bundled with OMG 4 and I really thought that OMG 4 was going to be better. In hindsight, I wish I had cancelled the bundle….

  2. “Wellll, to answer that question ~ “Who else does cute like we do?” ~ No one. Because this is no one’s idea of cute. Not in any universe.”

Totally cracked me up! Hahahahaha Love your reviews! I’m glad that i didn’t pick up this box.

  3. I’d have to agree that this box is at best a tame form of cute, which is rather disappointing considering that there isn’t really a shortage of super cute products out there😦 Glad I skipped this out. I think I may skip their “cute” boxes in the future and get surprised when I get actual cute things ^_^;; #kbeautybloghop

  4. Yeah I passed on both the OMG and my cute Wishlist after 3 and although there are some nice things in here I’m glad I did! I think it may be time for Memebox to retire those series and maybe they are since 5 hasn’t come out! #kbeautybloghop

    1. yeah, and I think they are letting their collaborators pick out products that should have gone into these types of boxes – like the Soothing Sista box has the tonymoly egg scrub, which is in the shape of an egg🙂 , which would have been “cute” here.

  5. Since they usually release the new Cute Wishlist boxes before the previous ones ship, I don’t think they’ll be doing anymore of these…at least not for awhile. I think they got the picture that we were super unhappy with them overall. It’s kind of embarassing on their part that they can’t curate these boxes well, because there are SO MANY Korean brands that package their stuff adorably. It just doesn’t make sense to me. This one is on it’s way to me as well, and honestly, I don’t mind it all that much. I’m really confused as to why they included the lip balm that was already in the first one. It’s one thing to put in a repeat, but it’s another to put in a repeat that was already in the same series of boxes! I don’t mind having a repeat of the appletox, though. It will make a great gift. Do you think it’s a good product for oily skin? My sister has very oily skin so I’m always cautious in what I give her from my Memeboxes! Thanks for another fantastic review as always! #kbeautybloghop

  6. Oh dear, this box is really, really bad! So glad I didn’t pick it up!I think there’s something suspicious going on with Memebox. No new box ideas nor bundles, shipping delays etc. I sense financial trouble!

    1. I am not sure if they are in financial trouble ~ I think they overestimated the appeal of the Cutie Pie 2 box, because this and a couple of other boxes got those leftovers. I think they just split up the Cutie Pie 2 boxes and split them up. The Citrus Care and Foot Therapy boxes (my reviews are up on those) are fantastic!!

      1. Yes, I fully agree that I still get some excellent boxes, but on the other hand, if you check their website right now, you’ll notice that there are only 3 boxes currently on offer and actually only the Global one is worth attention. The situation is even worse as far as bundles are concerned. During the holiday I had to make my choices and skip a number of excellent boxes and now I have nothing to buy. What’s more my Cheese and Wine box was delayed and it was supposed to be shipped last week, but it wasn’t.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. I think they are very busy with Memebox China right now and they also seem to want to ramp up the Memebox Store. Also, people were complaining about the long delay from the time you ordered to the time the box shipped out. Since the last several boxes have been shipping out within a week of ordering them, I think we will less boxes available because of that. Maybe they are trying to fulfill that wish and by doing so, it will translate to less boxes available because they will no longer have the 1 to 2 months to curate them.

I have the Wine & Cheese box as well ~ I think the delay is from Innisfree. Mine hasn’t shipped out either😦
