Memebox Special #51 Citrus Care Box Review

I do love citrus products, items that smell like lemon, lime, grapefruit as well as items with Vitamin C.   The Grapefruit Scentbox is one of my favorites, whereas the Vitamin Care box was not ~ that had so much potential, but just was a Pure Smile + friends box.   I decided to give Memebox another chance with any Citrus themed box, so I purchased their latest release in this theme.  BTW ~ I know…I still have to review the OMG 4 box….but this box is so much nicer to review, so it is going first!!

Memebox Special #51 Citrus Care

Look to a brighter you – everyday!  Zesty citrus fruits are prime beauty-boosting ingredients in tons of beauty products, and for a good reason! Loaded with collagen-boosting Vitamin C and skin brightening natural acids, citrus fruits are skin and body-savers that halt the signs of aging and promote supple skin! When collagen production starts to slow down (at age 35! Tear…) and skin becomes congested and damaged from years of exposure to external aggressors and free radical damage, fundamental citrus components step up their game to stop aging and damage in its tracks! The results? You’ll have a radiant and youthful glow, and your friends will be able to spot you from miles away! Plus, the unique blend of zesty citrusy fragrances will evoke an energetic mood and lift your spirits!

Informational Card which should explain what I got and its value.

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Essence  I received the facial mist in my Global 16 box and I had guessed (correctly) that we would see the serum/essence in this box!  It is rare that I guess correctly in Memeboxes, so I felt I needed to gloat a bit – haha.  This is a very nice essence, very lightweight and no heavy scent.     I hope that Memebox will continue to work with Unni Recipe, because I think their products are first rate!

Vitito Make Up Starter Intro  These are exfoliating pads, so I am excited to get these! These seem very similar to the 7 second sheet masks by Skin Factory ~ the concept is very similar.  It has a side that is embossed that is used to exfoliate the skin and then you flip it over and use the soft side to hydrate your skin.   This is made with different ingredients then the Skin Factory product ~ this contains lavender water, malic acid, citric acid and other ingredients.  My container leaked a bit, so I do not know how saturated these pads are supposed to be, but they seem to have enough liquid in the jar.   This also came with a set of tweezers to help pluck a fresh pad out of the jar.    Full Size 70 grams Value $35.00

The pads are in an octagonal star shape

Product Description:  Peeling pad with exfoliation + makeup adhesiveness improvement + moisture & soothing.  Removes dead skin in just a few seconds to create smooth skin texture.   Improves adhesive power before and after makeup.   Contains 90% of lavender water to offer skin care without irritation.  Soothes skin with excellent moisturizing power. Double sided pad:  Step 1 embossing side for exfoliation; Step 2 soft side for moisture delivery.

How to Use:  Cleanse all over face with embossing side before makeup.  Pat all over face with soft side.

Key Ingredients: Lavender Water(90%), Malic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lavender Oil, BHA

Ingredients: Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Water, Butylene Glycol, Arginine, Citric Acid, Tartaric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Malic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Water, Alcohol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Caster Oil, Benzophenone-5, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, CI 60730

Vitito Painting Sweet Lip Balm in Orange Farm
At first, I was like, meh.  An orange lip balm.  But I do love a nice lip balm and when I opened this balm for the photo, I noticed a wonderful sweet orange (not candy sweet) aroma wafting out of the tin.  I had to swatch it and when I did, I was pleasantly surprised that, despite appearances, this is not a orange lip balm.  It is a rosy pink when swatched on my hand and when I applied it to my lips, they turned several shades darker than my normal lip color.   This is my lip color but better and it does a faint taste of oranges, with a glossy finish.  I really love this lip balm!!  Full Size 12 grams  Value $24.00

Product Description:  Formulated with orange peel oil, grape extracs, blackberry extracts, and Vitamin E, this Painting Sweet Lip Balm works to moisturize and revive dry, chapped lips.  It’s scented with a sweet fruity fragrance and its unique jelly-like balm texture is also a fun, unique feature to take note of.

SWATCH of Vitito Sweet Lip Balm in Orange Farm

How do I feel about this box?   When I first saw the spoilers before I had my box in my hands, I was conflicted.   On one hand, I love the body wash, the cleanser and the Unni Recipe Essence.  On the other hand, I am sick and tired of sunscreen showing up in every other Memebox that I order.   I mean, I will use it, I am sure, but geez….The Yeon makes other products that comes in really cute packaging.    I am happy that Unni Recipe made another appearance because I love their facial mist.  The body gel and facial cleanser will be used, as will the starter kit.   The lip balm smells like pure sunshine  and the lovely color that it tints my lips with is wonderful!   I like that they are adding “name brands” to the boxes, like TonyMoly and Mizon, along with start up companies such as Unni’s Recipe.   Not one PURE SMILE ITEM TO BE FOUND!!

Will I purchase another Citrus themed box again?  You betcha.   I will be sucked into the Citrus-world, again and again.  I just feel that there was something missing in this box that would have made it OMGZ-spectacular ~ a good facial cream would have really made this box.   Maybe one of The Yeon products in a cute packaging ~ like this one:

The Yeon Jeju Hallabong Energy Cooling Sherbet Cream

However, overall, this is a darn good box and I am glad I have it.   I paid $23.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $29.99 ~ I am sure I had Memepoints and this box was much less ~ and received a MemeValue ** of $112.00

Did you get the Memebox Special #51 Citrus Care?  What did you think of it and what is your favorite product?

If you love the look of that lip balm, the Oh My Lips box has it in the Berry Farm version and that box is still available at Memebox ~ it ships out on December 8th.

Spoiler #1 VIVITO Painting Sweet Lip Balm -retails at $24  01. Berry Farm  This chubby jelly-textured tinted lip balm gives rich moisture and nutrition for dry lips. With a refreshing blend of blackberry, orange peel, grape, cacao seed butter, and more natural ingredients, this cute jelly balm will be the answer to winter’s lip care concerns. 1. Thank you for this review and all the details you included! I got this box and I liked the products, especially the unni recipe essence, but again (like Honey Box 2) I wasn’t sure how good they are – your researched helped greatly 🙂 Side note – I tried to find out more about Unni Recipe online; they look like a really small, cosy company specialising in just a few products? Can’t understand Korean, so I was going by the pics!

I was a little concerned about the body wash; for some reason, many citrus-based washes dry out my skin, but I’ll give it a try, now. And I was going to gift the lip balm to my niece, but I’m having second thoughts now after reading your review 😀

Both the lip balm and exfoliating pads are from Vivito (apparently it’s the same parent company that produces Shara Shara, I think!) – do you think this is a sign more products are coming our way?

    Thanks again!

  2. thank you!! I enjoying doing this, so I am glad my readers also like how I blog 🙂

Unni Recipe is actually Sister’s Recipe (unni means sister in Korean). I have only found them on facebook right now ( and I hope that Memebox picks them up. I think they have a very small product line, including a BB cream.

I didn’t know that Shara Shara & Vivito shared the same parent company – that is good to know! I think that Vivito is much better than Shara Shara. This lip balm is going to be in Oh My Lips in the berry flavor and it was also in the Thanksgiving box as well (grape and orange), so I hope we will see more of this product line. I think it is actually quite nice!

  3. Glad that you made out so well with this box ^_^ Not sure why Memebox would add a sunscreen product at this time of year considering Korea (and other northern hemisphere countries) are past the summer months, but I suppose this would be good for our friends down south like in Australia ^_^;;;

  4. Thank you for the detailed review! I hope Memebox make more citrus care boxes in the future too because I missed this one and this one looks pretty good. The sister’s recipe essence sounds amazing, I hope they include more of this brand in future boxes too. I also like the looks of the Vitito exfoliating pads, the shape is cute. #kbeautybloghop

  5. Thanks for such a detailed post! I can`t believe the lengths you go to to share the all the info with us readers 🙂
I really love the look of those exfoliating sheets. They look like they`d be great thing to have. I think it`s great that they aren`t just circular. #kbeautybloghop

  6. Thanks for the detailed review! I just got this box this week and was really excited about it. It’s great that you provided all the extra info on the products. I didn’t swatch the lip gloss as I wasn’t excited by it, but now I’m going to have to give it a go! I was particularly happy to see the sunscreen, possibly because it is just going into summer here (New Zealand) and I will be using a lot of it in the next few months 🙂

  7. Wow what a great box! I would have loved this, but I skipped out on it because I was fearing another Vitamin Care situation filled with hand sanitizer and bar soaps. I’m really digging sheets…anything that is similar to the morning sheets is something I want to try. I would LOVE a more detailed review on those when you get around to using them! I’m also really glad they included a body wash in this box. We don’t get them very often, I noticed, and I love the Etude House one I got in the Cacao box! #kbeautybloghop
