Memebox Special #61 My Cute Wishlist 3 Review

I was not interested in My Cute Wishlist #1 when it first came out and when it finally was unboxed, I regretted that I didn’t get it.  It was SO cute and very well done.  I missed out on My Cute Wishlist #2 and then they released Memebox Special #61 My Cute Wishlist 3, which  I got right away.  However, when My Cute Wishlist #2 was unboxed, many people were very disappointed at the lack of cuteness in the box.  I debated if I should still keep #3, and decided that Memebox couldn’t make a mistake 2 times in a row, right?  How wrong I was…Read on….And be prepared to be very scared at the end!!

Informational Card which should explain what I got and its value.

As these products are unknown to me and perhaps even to my readers, I am posting a description of the product under my thoughts for every product.  Normally, I just do a snippet or if it is a product that doesn’t really need a description, I won’t post it.  But for the purposes of my Memeboxes, I will make sure I find the appropriate description, usage and ingredient list if I can find it.   The descriptions will be from the webpage that is linked to the product name.  Not all of these products are sold in the Memebox Shop, so I had to look for them on various sites.   I really had a hard time finding these products, by the way, so don’t be thrown off by the Korean websites that are linked here!

Hope Girl Tinted Lip Balm Randomly selected from Strawberry, Love Peach and Hot Cherry.  Okay, Memebox ~ YOU JUST HAD THIS in the Sweet Shop Box and it was an epic fail.   Why oh why do you repeat this damn Hope Girl product?   And again, the same color of Love Peach.   The packaging is nice with the leopard spots on a pink background, but since Memebox and Hope Girl have a love affair with one another, it isn’t anything new to a Memeboxer.   However, I do like Hope Girl’s packaging, so that is why I scored the cute factor the way I did.    I feverishly hope (pun..) that this is the LAST of these lip balms from Hope Girl.     Unboxing Beauty’s Cute Factor: 3/10  Full Size 5g  Value $12.00

Product Description:  Scented with a delicate strawberry, peach or cherry fragrance, Hope Girl’s Tinted Lip Balm is both a lip tint and lip balm.  While the co-enzyme Q-10 and shea butter formula deeply nourishes your chapped lips, the lovely tint will stain your lips with a long-lasting, colorful radiance!

Shara Shara Fairy´s Make-up Synergy Sun Cream SPF45 PA++ I am scared of this product.  The vacant eyes, the smirk, the horrid taste in clothing… Nightmares, I tell ya.  And what is that on the top of her head?  A BUMPITS? (If you have no idea what a Bumpits is, read this blog post on them.  You will die laughing!)   My camera was so horrified by her, that it couldn’t focus in on her glory (and talk about SHINY).  I have a lot of sunscreens from Memebox, so this is not something I would use.  I also cannot, in good conscience, gift this to  either one of my nieces.  I would quickly lose the status of a “cool aunt” if I did so.  This it supposed to be part of a “set” where you can assemble the different products and made this into a full sized dolly.  Unboxing Beauty’s Cute Factor: 0/10   Full Size 30 mL    Value $21.00

In all of her stackable glory

Ingredients:  rice extract, soothing patent ingredients (sophora root  and grapefruit, resilience strengthening patent ingredients (Centella asiatica (L.) Urbain, milkwort and platycodon), barrier strenthening patent ingredients (unpolished rice, green tea and dandelion root)

The box is cuter than the Sun Fairy

Ddung Family Foam Cleansing Cream   Randomly selected from Fruits, Milky.  I received the Milky cleanser and I like the ingredients a lot ~ milk protein, chamomile flower extracts, lavender extracts, peppermint leaf extracts, rosemary leaf extracts ~ very herbal-y……I am always happy to get  another cleanser!  The face reminds me of those Precious Moments dolls (of which I had one as a child)!  I guess it is cute-ish.   But the name is very unfortunate.   Dung means poo.   Unboxing Beauty’s Cute Factor: 5/10  Full Size 120 mL  Value $12.00.

When will we share precious moments?

Product Description:  A foaming cleanser that washes away skin impurities gently, yet thoroughly, with high  density foam

Main ingredients: Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E),  milk protein extract, morus bark (white mulberry) extract, centella asiatica (gotu kola) extract, green tea extract

Yes, I stuck my finger in the scrub…I cannot help it!

Shara Shara Kissing Sugar Lip Scrub  I love sugar lip scrubs!!  This one has lots of nice ingredients, honey, avocado oil, argan kernel oil, mango seed oil with grains of sugar and walnut shells.  Very nice, not waxy like the Pure Smile ones, but not like the lip scrubs I am used to – this is a compromise between the two.  I use sugar scrubs, so this is mine… However, the face on the container ~  she looks a bit bloated and constipated to me ~ haha.   I do not find it that cute.  Unboxing Beauty’s  Cute Factor: 0/10  Full Size 10g. Value $7.00

Key Ingredients:  Brown sugar powder, avocado oil, honey extract

Product Description:  Natural scrub such as sweet sugar grain and walnut peel powder.  Takes care of dead skin on lip thoroughly to create soft lips. Honey extract and shea butter offer enriches nourishment to lips and tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E derviates) protects.   Vegetable oil such as avocado oil and argan tree kernel oil help take care of lips and create a moisture barrier on them.

Youngwoosa Oh! It´s Lovely and Soft Cream  This contains Brown Algae Extract (33%) for moisture, Baobab Tree Extract.  I don’t think it has rose in it, as the ingredient photos do not show rose at all.  It smells nice and it is a cream ~ I won’t use this on my face, but on my neck, as I do think  this is a cheaper cream, despite the Memeprice.  Youngwoosa has it on sale for $12.18.    Between the doggie on the container and the picture of the insipid girl, this reminds me of Little Orphan Annie, a comic strip I LOATHED as a child (and still do).  Annie creeped me out with the vacant eyes and this girl on the jar is another one of those vacant eyes drawings of a creepy girl.  Unboxing Beauty’s  Cute Factor: 0/10  Full Size 45g  Value  $47.00

Damn Scary to me ~ Little Orphan Annie ~ Can you see the resemblance?  She even has a dog!

So, based on the pics above, I am guessing that this has the following ingredients:  01 Brown Algae, 02 Baobab Tree, 03 Hyaluronic Acid, 04 a mystery  05 another mystery…plants are not my forté

Tonymoly Red Cheeks Girl´s Patch  These are cheek patches. I don’t understand the need for cheek patches. I have never had rough cheeks and I wonder if this is something that other ladies experience a lot….Anyway, these contain kelp extract ~ for vitamin K ~ and the following extracts as well: cabbage, rose flower, cherry blossom, apricot,  aloe vera, cucumber and green tea.  I will gift these to one of my other  nieces and let her know that she doesn’t have to put them on her cheeks!  Is it cute? The drawings remind me the elves from Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer …. Kinda cute ~ I like that the little girl is wearing a kerchief on her head ~ that plus the resemblance to the girl elves gives this cutie an extra cute factor point.  Unboxing Beauty’s Cute Factor:   7/10  Full Size 14 g Value $2.00

They must have been the inspiration for these drawings!!

Product Description: This is a no mesh, hydro gel type patch to moisturize and cool down sensitive cheeks.  It contains a pink complex of rose, cherry blossom, apricot and peach extracts to supply moisture and healthy skin.  Aloe vera, cucumber and green tea extracts will cool down skin and sea kept with vitamin K will minimize irritations. It has sweet fruity scent. No parabene is included.

How To Use: After cleansing face,  apply the patches on the cheeks.  Leave them for 20-30 minutes and dispose them.

So, this cute wishlist box had a major theme – dolls.  Now, I like dolls, I grew up playing with them, but I am particular about them.  I found that most of these products not to be cute at all but creepy.  There is a reason why there are stories about creepy dolls coming to life…Think Talking Tina, the infamous Chucky, and of course, Cabbage Patch Dolls.

Warning….CREEPY Dolls ahead

Annabelle from The Conjuring

OMG – she is wearing the TonyMoly Cheek Patches!

Talking Tina from The Twilight Zone

Chucky from Child’s Play

They even made a movie called DOLLS

And of course, those vacant eyed baby dolls that make me go all shivery.

I know that there are those that love this box, and I do not mean to offend at all ~ I am having fun with the scary-creepy doll theme.    I just found that this theme was not to my liking at all and I was looking for some Kawaii products to give to my nieces (as well as for me)   Most of these products are not Kawaii to me, as they scare me!!   Memebox should have just put one or two dolly items and then put the animal and food Kawaii items in there, just to balance the box out.  I almost feel that Memebox just seduced us with the first My Cute Wishlist box and it is going downhill from there.

These are dolly Kawaii ~ I would have been happy to get one of these in my box ~ TonyMoly Fruit Princess Lip Glosses

If the box had quality items, I could have overlooked the bad-not-cute packaging, but I felt this box really tended to be on the
cheaper side.   Let’s hope My Cute Wishlist 4 is better – a hellva lot better.   Otherwise, I will not purchase another My Cute Wishlist box again.  My Total Cute Factor Score on this box is at 25%.

I paid $23.00 + $6.99 in shipping, for a total of $29.99 and received a MemeValue ** of $101.00  ** What is MemeValue?  It is my term to describe the value that Memebox puts on the products, which can be very over inflated.  You can usually find these products at a lesser cost, so I do suggest researching first if you wish to purchase them.

Did you get the Memebox Special #61 My Cute Wishlist 3?  What did you think of it?  Was it Kawaii enough for you?  Or was it Creepy-Kawaii?  Could it be that it was a Halloween box?

  1. I missed out on the first version of this box, planned to buy the second, but it sold out before I got the chance. When I saw the unboxings of the second one, I was very glad I passed. I assumed there was a 50/50 shot this one would be fantastic or terrible. I didn’t take a chance and I’m glad! That doll sunscreen is so weird. There are so many cutesy Korean products, so I’m not sure why they seem to have so much trouble finding stuff for these boxes. Hope Girl lip gloss is not cute!

  3. I haven’t received my box yet but after seeing all the unboxing pictures, I’m really not looking forward to it. Why couldn’t they have included products like the Holika lip balm from the Cafe box or any of the etude house hand creams? Or even Peripera? Those have absolutely adorable packaging.
